Daddy's Lil' Angel

Disclaimer: I own no one but Kitori!

She was only five years old at the time. The world was nothing but her Daddy and her Mommy more over her Daddy. Her father was the one who stayed home because he'd gotten a real big booboo before she was born and was no longer allowed to go outside- or that's what she got from her Mommy when she asked. She loved her Daddy though. Mommy was gone alot when she was younger- even up when she was in her teens.

The crying was what woke her up first. She sat up her pink night gown ruffled from the sleep had to be straighened before she choked herself. She quietly got out of the bed- as quiet as a five year old could be and snuck down the hallway. Maybe the person crying just needed a big hug.

It was alot darker in the Castle then she remembered it. "Hello?" She whispered as politely as possible trying to sound just as nice as her mother sounded. As she got closer to her parents room she heard it louder. It had Daddy's funny accent attached to it. "Daddy?" Pushing the large door open was hard and heavy but she had to do it. She had to make sure Daddy was ok.

Finally the large doors split and she squeezed in. She blinked trying to find her Daddy in the covers on the huge bed. How did Mommy find him after going to the potty? "Daddy?" She whispered again. The crying continued and she padded further on her barefeet. When she got to the bed her instincts told her that Daddy was still asleep. She touched his arm. No response.

"I'm a failure- a complete failure." He twisted in his bed making her step back fearfully. She had heard Mommy and Daddy joking about the way he moved at night and that Mommy had gotten many owies from it. "I'm sorry- to everyone."

Why was he sorry? He didn't do anything bad. She finally went on Mommy's side and climbed on. "Daddy it's ok." She whispered shaking him. "I'm here. Dont cry. Do you want me to get boo boo bear? I can try and make your owie ok."

Her Daddy twisted in his sleep again only this time his eyes flew open. "Kitori? Sweetie vhat are you doin' out of bed?"

"You were crying." She shot back accusingly. "What is owie?"

"Darling, nothing is "owie". I vas just having ah bad dream." He sat up and petted her on the head. His hand wasn't cool like it usually was. It was hot and wet. She looked up at him through his fingers and saw wet drops still on his cheeks. She pulled away and reached up and wiped them off just like her mother had done to her when she was hurt.

"Daddy what is a failure?"

"It's vhen you can't do something that you really vant to do. I had that problem before you vere born. It's not your fault though, Kitori."

"I want to make it better. Do you miss Mommy? Cos I do to. It'll be ok." She reached up and hugged him tight. "And you're not a failure. You watch me all the time!"

He hugged her back, tears falling down his cheeks, nodding. "Thank you," He breathed, "Thank you, my Kitori, my little angel." He fingered her black hair and kissed her forehead. "Vant to sleep wit me?"

"Oh yes! Yes!" She jumped up and down and then settled in her fathers arm her head in the crook of his arm. "Night Daddy. I love you."

"Night Kitori, I love you to..." That was the first night since Romelle had gone to see Allura that Sven had gotten any sleep. The feeling of his daughter in his arms was enough to calm his heart down.
