He'd killed an innocent man, stolen his wife, trusted the wrong person for the sake of his vision of a perfect world. The people loved him, he was the perfect emperor, the world was at peace.
And then eveything came crashing down around him.
(it's over)
His-Sigurd's wife was dead; he loved Dierdre more than life itself but she had been Sigurd's all along, his son was going to destroy the world, his daughter was frightened and hurt and being used as a tool just as her mother had been.
(goodbye)
Manfroy used him, destroyed everything he'd worked for.
(i was foolish)
Azel was dead.
(i'm sorry)
He doesn't even try to fight back when Celice arrives. Falaflame isn't as strong as it once was, and he can feel Sigurd's spirit in that last blow.
And then it's over.

Celice re-sheathes his sword and looks down at Alvis's body. Somehow, he can't bring himself to feel anything but pity for the man he hated all his life, the man who stole everything from everyone.
"He's gone."
Levin walks over.
"Good job, Celice. The people will be so happy to see you reclaim the throne that should have been yours all along."
Celice nods.
"Levin...is it just me, or is Lord Alvis smiling?"
"He is, Celice. He is."

If this seems familiar in any way...yes, this is basically an alternate take on "Last Regrets", only focusing more on Alvis than his thoughts on Diadora, Azel, etc. Also this one has Celice POV at the end. Obviously.
