They say that when life surprises us, we are astounded but when these surprises become a part of life, we stop being flabbergasted by them, especially if they have been with us since the moment we knew who we were and often regarded these strange occurrences as our imagination but is it always so?

The answer to the above question was discovered one windy night with the cold tinge to the atmosphere when two babies woke up with shrill cries and tears in their eyes wails coming out of their tiny mouths as their parents ran in trying to calm their charges, whose eyes had for one second changed colours, the boy's hazel ones turning to a deep emerald green and the girl's green eyes turned to a gold flecked hazel colour when suddenly they stopped. A stillness surrounded the atmosphere, looking as if the entire world was waiting to see what would happen when with one all mighty wail, both the infants fell silent, creating a pin drop silence in two houses, miles apart yet connected by the souls of the youngest in there.

"What do you think could have been the cause of this Dorthea?" A tall man with clumsy hair that stuck up at the back and brown eyes covered with glasses asked looking at the slighter smaller red hair woman with hazel eyes that mirrored her sleeping son's.

"A storm Charlus, what else? James must have heard the storm and woken up," Dorthea said, though her eyes held that same worry as the eyes of her husband and unknown to her, the eyes of two parents in a small town near Spinner's End.

"Mumma, what's wrong with Li?" a two year old asked her Mother the next day, looking at the small red head whom her father was holding and making faces at. Despite the jealousy Petunia Evans felt at the attention being diverted from her, her love for the screaming infant made her go and help her father try to soothe her sister.

"Li, you no cry. I am your best fwiend," the black haired girl said using the limited vocabulary she had learnt and soon the red head smiled and fell asleep, just like another boy in a huge manor house who had been shushed by both his parents too and this continued for the next four years until the magic of the children developed enough for telepathy to occur. However, like most surprises, this too came as a surprise and let's just says that it isn't the most pleasant thing to hear someone else's voice in an empty dark room while you hid from your sister, during hide and seek.
