"You feeling okay?" A tired, yet kind voice asked, the owner of the voice yet to look up from his newspaper.
"Mmmm, long day at work. Some bitc-," she started, catching her self midway, "...I mean witches were irritating me."
"And how were they irritating you?" he asked, mildly curious.
"Well, they wer- AHH!" the witch exclaimed as she tripped over her own feet. To begin with, she was quite clumsy, however when around her good friend and crush, she was a total mess.
"You okay?" Remus simply asked, not to worried. He was used to her klutziness and found it quite endearing, although he would never dare admit it.
"I am totally fine!" she exclaimed popping back up like a spring. "Fine," she repeated for emphasis and assurance, "What was I talking about?"
"The witches, or should I say, bitc-"
"Oh, of course, okay," she said interrupting him, "So, as I was saying, I was sitting at my desk filling out some auror paper and then out of no where, these two witches start talking about werewolves."
"Okay, I'm intrigued. Continue," he said, readjusting his glasses and sitting up a bit straighter, a bit more attentive.
"So they were saying the absolute worst things, like how evil and filthy they were and how ugly and repulsive they were."
Remus let out a low chuckle, "And how did you respond?"
Tonks's hair turned a mischievous purple. She bit her lip, "Weeeellllll, I may or may not have stood up and told them that I happen to now an extremely kind, sweet, thoughtful, successful, and handsome werewolf and that if they had anything else to say, then they should take their conversation somewhere else. I mean something is seriously wrong with them. You're wonderful, werewolf or not!" she said all in one breath. There was a hint of pride as well as happiness in her tone.
Remus smiled, "Well, that's my Tonks for you, I guess. Just curious, who was that werewolf you were talking about? I love to meet him. Maybe we can share notes." he added with a little wink, causing Tonks to double over again, falling flat on her face this time.
Pushing back her still grape colored hair, she popped up, once again, grinning widely, "Yeah, I'd love to get you two in touch, you'd love him. You two could easily be the same person."
"Could we now?"
Tonks nodded vigorously and enthusiastically, "I mean you have the same hair," he hair turning the chestnut color of his with matching grey streaks.
Remus chuckled again, "You look so old like that."
"I don't know, I like it...I feel more mature-er."
"Mature," he corrected.
"Hey, you're not allowed to go all professor-y on me! I me jeez, between you and Hermione, it's like I'm stuck in Hogwarts again...oooh, speaking of which, what do you think a 23 year old which would want for a birthday present?"
"I have but not clue, do I look like a 23 year old which to you?"
"Mmmmm, well not really, you've got more of that olderish, booish look. Very mature-er."
"Is that going to become a thing with you now?"
"Yes."
"Well, that isn't very mature-er of you."
Tonks grinned wide, "Remind me to introduce you to that lovely werewolf I know."
"Will do," he replied with a smile, "So, do you really think I'm handsome?"
Tonks gave him a wink, "Yes, you are."
Walking away, Tonks couldn't restrain the silly grin planted on her face. Then tripping over, apparently nothing, she yelled, "Bloody hell! Again! I'm fine!"
"Cursing...How very mature-er of you."
