Author's Note:
Some of these may seem random, and I apologize for that. I used to play Khione on a roleplay and that sort of spawned some of the relationships mentioned here. I tried to make them make more sense, but it was hard to completely explain without taking away from the actual fanfiction, so just try to roll with it.
I. Khione hates her father, Boreas. She thinks he's far too idle and meaningless, letting his endless life slip past him. However, she finds herself seeking his approval nonetheless.
II. Most things teenagers adore disgust her. Drugs, parties, and sex—they're all useless bugs on the windshield for her. She couldn't understand why teenagers find these things so important even if she tried.
III. She genuinely believes that Olympus being overthrown would be good for the world in the long run.
IV. She scoffs at things like friendship and love, but then she looks at Drew and Connor, her best and only friends, and she knows that, whether she likes it or not, she's trapped in this attachment business. She hates it, because she knows that when it comes down to it, they will choose Olympus over her, just as she will choose murder over them.
V. Luke Castellan's death is an act of bravery to her. She doesn't agree with his sudden change of heart, but she grudgingly admits that it took guts.
VI. In all of her immortal life, never has Khione hated someone as fiercely as she hates Thalia Grace. Thalia has everything: freedom from her parents, a badass brother, and a successful career. And, somewhere in her, Khione also resents the way Thalia has Luke's heart in a way that she never can.
VII. Khione doesn't know Percy Jackson well, but she despises him solely because of how much he looks like his father and her ex, Poseidon.
VIII. She doesn't regret giving up Eumolpus, the son Poseidon bore her. However, she does feel a twinge of bitterness when she realizes that it's the only thing the Greeks seem to remember her by.
IX. When she's alone, Khione finds a simple joy in watching a child discover snow for the first time. After people like Aeolus and bitter weathermen always calling her snow a curse, it's beautiful to see such mindless appreciation.
X. Khione doesn't need to look at that Phobos boy to know what she fears most of all: to be unaccomplished. As soon as she realized what an awful, ignorant place the world was, she vowed to find a way to make a name for herself. She won't admit it, but she fears she'll never succeed at this.
