Xephos shivered at the cold hand on his leg, it was a sterile cold, like a doctor. The whole of Yoglabs smelled of chemicals but this room... smelled faintly of roses. It made Lalna happy.
"Where's Honeydew today?" The blonde man asked, his glassy eyes were staring down at Xephos with just the slightest hint of smugness on his face. It was like he knew. Xephos felt his breath catch in his throat, he didn't want to think about that now, and he had come here for one reason and one reason only. He needed Lalna, he needed to find even a slight trace of the man he had once been, before the accident, before the terrible, terrible corruption that had somehow caused... this.
"He's dead isn't he?" Lalna whispered, his face was only inches away and Xephos could feel his warm breath on his cheek. He shook his head.
"No... He's just... gone." He whispered, he didn't want to think about it, didn't want to think of his best friend suspended in ice down below. Lalna hummed quietly, running a hand down Xephos' bare leg. Xephos shivered.
"Are you scared of me?" The blond whispered. Xephos opened his eyes, looking up.
"No." He said, reaching up with one hand to brush the hair out of Lalna's glass grey eyes. He took Xephos' hand in his, moving it to cover his mouth. Xephos swallowed nervously, he had watched Lalna tear apart so many people with that mouth, humans just like him. It was stupid to think that he would be treated any differently, but he didn't care anymore. Lalna kissed his hand softly, his eyes closed. Xephos flinched as he felt teeth graze his skin. Lalna chuckled, and leaned in close, warm breath on Xephos' ear.
"You know, I'd eat you right up darling." Xephos shivered, turning his head slightly to look at Lalna, who smiled at him slyly and leaned in, pressing his lips against Xephos' softly. He moved down slightly, pushing the spaceman's shirt out of the way and nibbled on his neck. Xephos shuddered, this wasn't right. It wasn't right, this wasn't the Lalna he knew, was there even anything left of that man? Lalna looked up and tilted his head.
"If you're not scared of me, why are you crying?" He asked.
"I'm not crying." He lied, trying to ignore the warm tears running down his face. Lalna leaned up, licking the water from his face gently.
"Oh really?" He whispered. Xephos forced a smile.
"Really." He said. Lalna shifted so his face was merely centimeters from Xephos, and stared down at his lips for a moment. His cold eyes flickered up to meet the soft blue of the spaceman's.
"I'm still here Xephos. Does that scare you?" He asked, Xephos didn't answer at first, slightly confused. "It's still me, still Lalna. I remember everything from before the accident." He ran a cold finger down Xephos' side, but he was too distracted by what Lalna was saying to be affected. "I remember you. I remember Sjin, and Honeydew. I'm still me. Did you think I was capable of what I do now?" Xephos felt himself overcome by a sudden and unexpected wave of grief.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He sobbed. Lalna smiled calmly.
"Now, now... What are you apologizing for darling?" He asked, making small circles on Xephos' chest with his hand. He leaned in closer, lips hovering so close they were nearly touching. "They're all happy memories after all. Especially the ones of you." He breathed.
"I'm sorry." Lalna smirked, licking Xephos' lips slowly, his tongue grazing over the other man's teeth. Xephos shuddered. He wanted to believe Lalna loved him once, even if he didn't now.
"It's me." Lalna whispered, and for a second, Xephos believed him.
