This is the first of a series of oneshots, all based around the Disney princesses and a quote- there will be eight in total, I think. Read and review and keep your eyes peeled for the next installment!

PS: This is set in the 'There's No Place Like Home' universe.
Rachel Rafter had fallen in love with the Disney princesses when she was merely six year olds, devouring the videos one week where she was confined to her house with a stomach bug. Her mother would head to the video shop, returning with a stack of videos- but Cinderella was provided by her best friend Jake. He had risked a bout of stomach flu to join her and watch the movie- ignoring the fact that it was all princesses and girly love.
The two six year olds were quiet, eyes glued to the screen, watching as Cinderella was transformed into a beautiful princess with a 'bippity boppity boo'.
"I wonder if my prince charming will find my shoe one day", Rachel had said thoughtfully, looking down at her pink slippered feet.
"Maybe". Jake shrugged, as Rachel found herself lost in the world of fairytales and pretend.
He kept her wish, in the back of his mind, as they grew up. By the time they were in their twenties, Rachel had seemed to have well and truly given up on her dream of her prince charming finding her shoes and slipping them onto her feet (despite the fact, that as a little girl, she had left her one of her shoes floating around the house, in the hope of prince charming arriving. She had never noticed that Jake had been the one to pair them up once more).
It was the night of Julie and Dave Rafter's twenty fifth anniversary, when he received the call to come and get her. She had barricaded herself away from her abusive boyfriend- Jake knew he had been right when he decided he didn't like him. Finding his best friend, curled up tearfully in the corner of the room, cuts and bruises all over her body,.
Slipping her ballet flats onto her feet, he scooped her into his arms, carrying her towards his self-christened Beast.
Through her tears, she had seen and felt what he had done. He had fulfilled her childhood dream, a prince slipping her shoes onto her feet.
At the time she had thought that Jake had been the wrong guy.
She had been the one who was wrong.
