Emma collapsed right in front of Regina. "Oh my god!" the brunette gasped shocked. She knelt in front of the blonde's body and felt for a pulse. She sighed relieved, but quickly grabbed her phone.
"Yes, hello, this is Mayor Mills. Emma Swan just collapsed. We're in Mifflin Street. Please, hurry!" Regina hung up the phone and grabbed Emma's lifeless hand.
"Come on, Emma! Please, don't die!" Regina felt herself tear up. "I – Henry needs you!" If you die now, I'm never going to be able to tell you how I feel! Regina thought to herself.
Sirens could be heard, before she could see the ambulance. They put Emma inside and turned towards me. "Are you riding with us, Madam Mayor?" Unable to find her voice, Regina merely nodded. She sat down next to the blonde's face and took her hand in hers again.
Once they arrived at the hospital, Regina had to stay in the waiting area. She was pacing around. After a few minutes, she decided to call Ruby and asked her to go get Henry at school and bring him to her.
"Mom!" Regina turned around half an hour later to see her worried son running towards her. She hugged him tightly, while telling him what had happened.
"She's going to be okay, Mom! Emma's strong. She doesn't give up without a fight!" Regina squeezed him tighter.
Another half hour later, Henry had fallen asleep on Ruby's lap and Regina was pacing again.
Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She walked to the nearest nurse and cleared her throat. "Miss, I was wondering if I could get an update on Emma Swan?" The nurse looked frightened, when she saw the Mayor. "I'll go check and tell you as soon as possible." Regina nodded.
Seconds later, Dr. Whale walked towards her. "Was it really necessary to scare the nurse?" He asked her exasperatedly. "Nobody would tell me anything and I was tired of waiting. Now, tell me how she is!" She ordered.
"Emma is going to be fine. She had appendicitis and collapsed from the pain. We had to remove it. She's going to need to rest for a few weeks and then she'll be good as new! I can only release her if there is someone to look after her, though, and since Snow and David can't be reached due to personal problems, I'm afraid she'll have to stay here!" He explained.
"Miss Swan will stay with me!" Regina told him firmly. "I'll look after her!" Whale nodded. "So, when can our sheriff go home?" She asked. "As soon as she wakes up! Your welcome to go to her room and wait there, if you'd like." Regina nodded and went to wake up Henry.
Emma slowly opened her eyes to a bright foreign room. "Where am I?" She asked, her voice raspy. Regina hurried to her side as soon as she heard her voice.
"Oh Emma, thank god! I was so worried! You had appendicitis, you're at the hospital!" Emma groaned.
"When can I go home?" She asked. Regina smiled slightly. She pulled a few blonde locks from Emma's face. "Dr. said I could take you home as soon as you woke up."
"My home or yours?" Emma asked skeptically.
"The mansion." Regina answered. "It was either this or your parents'," She added before Emma could protest.
"Fine," Emma sighed.
"Emma, I was so scared!" Regina's eyes filled with tears once more. "I was afraid I would never be able to tell you how I feel about you!" The blonde looked at her curiously. "I love you, Emma!" Regina finally said. Emma smiled widely. "I love you too, gorgeous!" Emma sat up slightly and pulled Regina down kissing her deeply, lovingly.
"Let's go home!" Emma said when they finally broke apart.
