Be yourself, Charlie Brown
Thirteen-year-old Charles Monroe Noah Brown looked at himself in the mirror; he had a mop of blonde hair, zits dotting his forehead and was sporting a yellow hoodie with a black zigzag (of course). He groaned, as the only people that do like him are Heather Georgia Wold, Patty Anastasia Swanson, Linus Alexander Van Pelt and Marcie Rebecca Carlin.
"No one really does like me", he told himself before his ten-year-old sister, Salina Mariel Brown (also known as 'Sally' by her friends and big brother) walked by.
"What's the matter, Charlie?" she asked in great concern. Charlie looked at her; with her big hazelnut eyes, fair peachy skin and sunshine yellow hair; he knew he had to tell her. "Nobody likes me!" he blurted out. Sally looked at him before walking towards him and hugging him, "That's not true and you know it." She reminded him.
"It's just that, I don't feel loved by anyone except you and the only friends I do have." He explained. Sally looked at her brother before hearing the phone ring.
"I got it, Mom!" Sally cried out as she raced to the ringing phone. She gasped when she heard that voice. "Big Brother, it's for you!" Sally exclaimed as Charlie answered the phone, wondering who would want to talk with a thirteen-year-old failure. "Charles, is that you?" the voice asked, causing Charlie Brown to flip.
"Marcie? I haven't gotten a phone call from you since you moved to Oakwood." He explained in a happy/surprised voice. "I know, I've tried calling you, but I always get the answering machine." The girl explained, causing Charlie to blush a nice shade of pink/red on his cheeks. "I know. I just never thought that you'd call me. I truly thought that you misplaced my phone number." The lovable looser replied, smiling.
The two teens talked for about twenty minutes before hanging up. Charlie smiled as he walked toward his little sister, who quietly asked what they talked about. "A lot, Sally. We talked about our friends and our family life and of course, how I can be a blockhead. And do you know what she said?" he asked his little sister, who shook her head, making a 'no' sign.
"She told me that I'm probably cute and that I should just be myself. We even made plans to see each other during the summer vacation." Charlie explained, getting a big hug from Sally before she prepared for her date with Linus (A.K.A her Sweet Baboo).
Meanwhile, outside, 84 year-old Snoopy was flying his sopwith camel, battling the Red Baron, (like always), with Woodstock by his side. "/" Woodstock chirped, only for Snoopy to bark back, "I agree. This war has been going on ever since I was a puppy. I should probably retire from flying."
