It was just another day at Duel Academy. Well, no, that's not true. Ever since the catastrophic invasion of the Mary Sues and the epic duel tournament to defeat them, nothing had been normal.
Case in point - after Vanessa Kaiba-Motou was dropped on top of Mindy, the Obelisk Blue girl had completely forgotten how to play Duel Monsters! Instead, she could only recall the rules to some other obscure card game. It was quite the task for Alexis, Jaden, and Syrus to try to teach her Duel Monsters again.
"I pay five manna to cast a creature spell! Necro-Wyrm!"
"For the tenth time, Mindy," Alexis groaned, rubbing her aching her head. "It's 'summoning' a 'monster'. And there's no such thing as manna!"
"But then what do I use to cast my creature spells?"
"Nothing! You just summon them!"
"Then why isn't there a planeswalker in my library?"
"A what in your WHAT?"
"Never mind!" Alexis sighed. "I'll just take my turn. I summon Blade Skater in -."
"Skullcrack!"
"That's not a Duel Monsters card!"
"Skullcrack!"
"You can't play a spell when it's my turn!"
