Wordgirl had just managed to have Tobey caught red-handed destroying the city with his robots once again. She was watching, quite entertained as Tobey was angrily demanded to get into the car so he could go home and be grounded for the millionth time.
As she flew towards home, an amused smirk remained on her cheeks.
"I've been meaning to ask..." The narrator chimed. "Why is it that when you're battling any other villain it's nothing out of the ordinary but when it comes to Tobey you get excited and angry at the same time?"
"What? I-I don't know what you're talking about." Wordgirl answered nervously.
"I dunno, all I'm saying is it's weird that you get more enjoyment out of ruining his fun than you do with any other villain." The narrator explained.
"That's absurd, I do not. Stopping Tobey is just the same as stopping any other villain, I promise." Wordgirl responded nervously.
"But Tobey is different from the other villains...his motives are way different." Huggy squeaked as he stood on her back.
"So what? He's still a villain. Look, is there a point to this conversation?" Wordgirl asked.
"Yes, actually there is. I just don't know how much you'll like it..." The narrator responded, muttering the latter half of his sentence.
"Well, get on with it." Wordgirl badgered, her agitation evident in her voice.
"Alright..." The narrator let out a sigh.
"Haven't you ever considered returning Tobey's feelings?" The narrator asked. This made Wordgirl stop in her tracks, causing Huggy to go flying off her back, hurtling towards the ground. Wordgirl caught him just in time, however.
"What?! Why would I like him back? He's a villain, I'm the hero that stops him. Why would I like him? Psh...that's ridiculous..." Becky rambled.
"You know, your denying that with such vigor and...well, detail, only leads us to believe that that's a lie." The narrator explained, relieved no one could see the smirk on his face. He knew how she could do damage if angered enough.
"It's not true! I don't feel anything for him but annoyance and disdain." Wordgirl responded, crossing her arms.
"You're so lying."
"I so am not."
"Are too."
"Am not."
"Are too."
"Look, we could sit here and do this all day or we could agree to disagree. Let's just leave it alone, okay?" Becky asked, proceeding to fly the rest of the way to her suburban home and transform back into Becky Bottsford.
"You know she's totally in denial, right?" The narrator muttered to Huggy. Bob nodded in agreement as he rode on Becky's back.
"How long do you think it'll take for her to change her mind?"
"Oh, not long," Bob squeaked. "But it'll take her a while to admit she's changed her mind."
Short: yes. Horribly awful/the worst thing you've ever read: far from it, my friend! There is a little phrase I'd like to pin onto this lovely little one-shot here… "Short but sweet." XD But anyways, enough of my weirdness…review! :3
