Kissing with Bloody Lips
It had to stop but it couldn't. Lust is a strong feeling that can't be turned away. Even if the person you lust over isn't human.
The alarm clock seemed to wake me from my deep slumber as it was a beginning to a new day. I was and never will be a morning person but I have cherished my sleep since I got this job, being on the road more than 300 days in a year can really put a toll on your body, especially if you don't treat it right. As I kick and tossed my legs from under the sheet, I couldn't help but look at the sleeping form next to me.
My boyfriend of a year, Matt Hardy never seemed to be phased by much when it came to alarm clocks—he would just always sleep through them. As I groaned in frustration with the luck some people have, I dragged my feet towards the bathroom to get my shower started. Looking in the mirror, I saw my blonde hair was tasseled around and my eyes were bloodshot.
The warm fog of the shower filled the bathroom and I took that as my cue to go in. As I adjusted to the warm water, my mind drifted to last night….
"Have you told him?"
"No Adam, I can't. I lo—"
"Yeah you love him, I get it." Adam looked at me with those intense eyes. "But you lust over me."
His smirk grew bigger at the statement he just bluntly made. I had to admit, I did lust over him, but I had to remember that I had a faithful boyfriend that I loved with all my heart. If someone asked me how I got in the same situation that Amy did just a few years prior, I wouldn't even know where to begin. But right now, I had to live with the mistake I was making and pray that no one ever finds out.
"Adam—" he silenced me with his lips and pulled away moments after.
"Don't make me turn you into the curse I have to life with. I'd say I'm tempted, but I don't want you to live the rest of your life like me," his eyes looked sincere and I could only nod.
"I have to get back to Matt," the television monitor showed him walking up the ramp.
Adam pressed his forehead to mine, "Just promise me, you'll see me when we go to Chicago."
I pressed my lips to his softly, "I promise."
I leaned against the shower walls and slid down until I reached the cold tiled floor. The water continued to hit my body but I couldn't help but feel guilty about two things.
One, I was cheating on my boyfriend. Two, I wasn't even lusting over a human being… it just had to be a vampire.
