"Congratulations, sir." Booth said trying to be polite, or maybe he wanted to keep his job.
"Thank you, Agent Booth." Hacker had a smug smile planted on his face.
"No, I'm happy for you guys." Forced smile.
"I heard you the first time."
"You deserve each other."
"What does that mean?"
"You take what isn't yours… in about what? Five months. And Bones, oh, Bones, she falls for you, because she doesn't want to be celibate the rest of her life. You two truly belong."
"She's mine."
"No. She's not."
"She sure as hell isn't yours."
"I know, Hacker, but, I guess you wouldn't, because you haven't known her for five years. You see, Bones, she isn't anybodies. Not mine, not yours. She's a free spirit, and getting married will only dim her light. At least getting married thinking you own her, well, it will destroy her."
"Why?"
"Because she's free, and trying her down for five years? What a mistake. The second you lose your grip; she's gone, just gone. I guess maybe it is better to think you own her, that way, you won't ever let go."
"She's not something to be held down."
"No, no. She's not."
