Scared
"This means these creatures can invade my life whenever they feel like it, and I'm scared, Jack!"
"Yeah? Well, you know what, so am I!"
Gwen takes a step back, stares at him for a moment and then diverts her gaze to the floor, embarrassed.
Jack takes a step towards her, hands in his pockets.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said it." Gwen says miserably. God, was today a bad day. Her misery had lasted since the phone call from Rhys last night…and today had done nothing but fuel the feeling. Innocent girls; what had they done to deserve this?
And now…now that Captain Jack Harkness was scared, was there hope for any of them? Jack just didn't get scared, it didn't happen…
And here she was moaning that she was scared of some bloody fairies! He would tell her to pull herself together now; stop moping and start helping…
She becomes vaguely aware of a strong hand on her shoulder and lifts her head to come face to face with Jack.
"Anyone in there? Gwen?" He waves a hand in front of her face.
"Yeah. Sorry." She says quietly.
"You spaced out for a minute there or something. You okay?" His face is furrowed with concern.
"Yep." Gwen nods.
"Right. So, plan of attack…"
Gwen looks around to see that the others have joined them.
And the moment is lost…
