Living Conditions

Two weeks. Two weeks and she was going crazy. As much as Lois loved her cousin her apartment wasn't big enough for the both of them, something had to be done.

You wouldn't have thought it from looking at her but Chloe was messy, and as her apartment was starting to resemble a sty, Lois believed it was nearly to the point of being a pig.

Sighing, Lois assessed the damage wondering where to start, the piles of dishes in the kitchen? The clothes thrown all over the floor? Or the stacks of paper, magazines and DVDs in the living room? Now Lois wasn't one to judge, she wasn't exactly a clean freak but there was an order to her mess. This…this was just mess, or more accurately, a tip.

Armed with rubber gloves, Lois was about to mount her offensive when she was stalled by a knock at the door.

"Hey Lois," It was Clark. Showing no intention of returning the greeting, Lois turned around and headed back to the kitchen, leaving Clark to follow her in.

"Woah, Lois what happened to your apartment?"

"One small blonde tornado. We are in Kansas after all." Lois violently shoved some plates into the soapy water making some spill over the sides.

"Chloe? And I thought you were the messy one, guess it runs in the family!" Clark grinned at Lois, but his smile quickly vanished when he saw the look on her face. Clearing his throat he asked, "So, er, where is Chloe?"

"She ate the last of my rocky road, so I ate her." Lois deadpanned. She snuck a glance out the corner of her eye, and smirked at the look on Clark's face. "Relax Smallville, she's still alive and kicking. Geez, what do take me for?"

"Do you want me to answer that?" It was now Clark's turn to smirk.

"No, I want you to make yourself useful." Lois grabbed a dish cloth and threw it at Clark, who grabbed it before it hit him in the face. "If you're here, you can at least dry the dishes."

"So living with Chloe not going to well, huh?

"Define 'well'." Lois grumbled as she continued to scrub and rinse, and Clark dried. "I love my cousin but there's only so much a girl can take!"

"You know, if you need to get away you can always stay a night at the farm. I'm sure my mom wouldn't mind. I may even be generous enough to give you my bed."

"Tempting. But I'm not so sure my boyfriend would like the idea of me spending the night in another guy's bed."

Clark stopped and turned to face Lois, raising an eyebrow he said, "I'm sure there's something you could do to change his mind."

"Well I have been known to be quite persuasive, and the idea of taking over your room again does sound oh so appealing!"

Then in a move so fast, it shocked even Clark, Lois grabbed the front of Clark's plaid shirt and pulled his head down to kiss him. Hard. Just as Clark began to respond Lois pulled away, smiling brightly she asked, "So did it work?"

Not having fully recovered Clark shock his head, then he looked down to where Lois' hands where now flat against his chest. "Nope, you're not quite as persuasive as you thought Miss Lane. You also got my shirt wet, you're gonna have to make up for that too."

Lois sighed dramatically, "The things I have to go through as Clark Kent's girlfriend!"

"You love every minute of it!" Clark smiled as he wrapped his arms around Lois' waist and pulled her to him for another kiss. Lois buried her hands in Clark's hair as the kiss deepened, and the world faded away.

Clark forgot about his wet shirt and Lois forgot about everything, pig sty included.
