Doppelganger

"You're shivering. Sokka, what happened?" Zuko murmured softly into his neck, the dry candlelight casting their figures in shadow. The night was silent, save for the slight rapid breathing of the young male in his arms.

They'd been meeting less often lately, both too caught up in the tiring tribulations of life and fear. Sokka had been with Aang, searching for Appa, and Zuko had been trailing them endlessly, quaking thoughts of Azula and nightmares of home his constant companion.

But not now. Now he was with Sokka. Tucked safely away in a small inn at a town on the outskirts of the dangerous city of Ba Sing Se, huddled under blankets and clutching for warmth, he realized comfort was long in coming that night.

Sokka was trembling violently in his arm, his eyes clenched shut and his breathing too fast.

"Hey, stop it. Calm down." He tried ordering, grasping hold of Sokka's shoulders and starting when the tanned boy jerked in his arms, eyes flying up to stare blindly into Zuko's face. Slowly, he leaned up and pressed his lips to the prince's firm ones. A few moments later he leaned back from the surprising chaste taste of lips.

Zuko reached up and ran his pale fingers down the thin trail of tears on Sokka's cheeks. A red hue rose to the bridge of the other's nose that had nothing to do with the cold…

…and to Zuko's despair, nothing to do with his either.

Sokka's face scrunched up and he pressed his face back into Zuko's neck.

And quietly, in the black of the night, Sokka uttered something that made the night fall dead.

"You look like him, and he died."

Can anyone just say WOW!

Lake Laogai has got to be one of the better Avatar episodes in a LONG time. Ever since they all arrived in Ba Sing Se, everything has been soooooo evil. Le GASP!

But yes. Did this fic make sense? For those of you who couldn't guess, let me explain.

Zuko's hair (which is getting so LONG) made him remind me of JET!!!! Did anyone else think that or am I totally out there? Anywho…..OMGGGGGG!!!! ppoooooooooor JET!

Do you guys think he really died? I dunno for reals. Cuz that would be totally horrible if he DID die….but then it would be totally wonderful in a horrible way cuz OMG, Nick would be killing off a TEEN character in a kids show. wowza.

I hope he's alright. But yah. Sokka can't stand to be with zuko anymore cuz he reminds him of jet who Sokka also has a kinda sinful crush on. Weird connectin. But it was the first thing that came to my mind. Appa's free, jet may be dead, and zuko's one step closer to joining the avatar. (we hope) a lot happened in lake Laogai. Very good epi.
