A/N: This is kind of an old story I wrote last year that I just found again
The wind whipped through her hair, the beginning rain of the coming storm making spotted patterns on her white dress, though she was wearing a blue shawl over it. She loved this weather. It always made her appreciate the awesome power of nature. In her hand she held a daisy, surprisingly still intact despite the wind. This weather always made her ponder how something that made such violent, destructive storms could also make such delicate beauty, such as the daisy. Her gaze wandered upward towards the heavens where the lightning made intricately beautiful patterns along the sky.
But her thoughts were not on the rain, or the thunder, not even the lightning.
She turned from edge of the hill and began to walk down the side of the hill, stopping halfway down, her thoughts still somewhere other than where she was standing. She shook her head, trying to be rid of all the thoughts and dreams she knew would not come true. Her shoulder length blonde hair stuck to her neck and her face, covering her blue green eyes. She looked down at the daisy still clutched in her hand and whispered to herself.
"Can't you see I've fallen, harder than ever I intended, farther than I ever expected…?"
Frustrated, she threw the small white flower down and stalked off down the hill towards her home. A hand reached out, seemingly from nowhere, and grabbed her arm; spinning her around right where she was standing. The force from the spin sent her right into the person she had hoped to meet with once more, but dreaded meeting again. Her heart was jumping against the bars of its cage, but only managed to lodge itself in her throat.
"I'll be there to catch you."
The voice belonging to the boy she had been spun into replied. Soon she had regained enough muscle control to look up into his gorgeous sea greenish blue eyes outlined by his silver hair, plastered to his head by the rain. He smiled down at her, making her heart nearly jump out of her throat and her lungs to close off. She smiled back up at him, slowly remembering how to breathe.
He slid his arms around her slender waist; she slid her arms around his neck, in turn. They held each other in an embrace for a few moments, before Riku pulled back a little and looked into her eyes, searching for protest. Finding none, he leaned down slowly and gave her a small peck on the cheek, enough to nearly give Naminé a heart attack. He then detached her arms from around his neck, bent down and picked something up from the wet, muddy ground and handing it to the stunned girl.
"Here, you dropped this."
And he walked down the dirt path towards the town. Naminé continued to stand there shocked with her mouth agape, staring down the road he had gone down. After a while, her heart had begun to beat with a regular pattern and her ability to breathe had returned. She began, once again, to walk back to her home when she remembered about the thing in her hand. She opened her fist and looked to see what it was – the daisy! It was the daisy she had thrown on the ground in anger.
And once again she marveled, oh the power of nature…
