Chapter One.

Don't Leave Me Now

Pippin watched in glee as the Ent slowly tore away the support for the dam. They were winning! He and Merry had actually completed their task. Isengard would be cleansed of any trace of evil by the mighty river. Pippin threw another rock at an orc that tried to set Treebeard on fire, and with a thunk, the orc collapsed onto the ground, a large impalement on his helmet. It was all working perfectly. Merry was underneath Pippin, chucking rocks and laughing. He must have felt the same way. Pippin moved in closer to Treebeard's shaggy head and watched. Some orcs were stumbling their way out of Isengard. Some were flying in every which way by the merciless attacks of the angry Ents. Then, the loudest sound Pippin had ever heard washed over his ears. A long, sturdy, deafening whoosh filled the area and Pippin turned to the source. The Ent had pulled away the final support and was moving as fast as he could, as any Ent could, to move out of the way. Pippin's eyes widened and his heart sank when he saw how much water Saruman had behind that dam.

"Brace yourselves, Hobbits," Huffed Treebeard, firmly planting his feet to the ground and covering his face. Pippin groped around frantically for something to hold. To no use, it turned out. He saw Merry cluctching Treebeard's forearm, and Pippin made to do the same, before the crash of the water made even the giant ent waver dangerously.

Uh Oh. What's going to happen to poor Pippin? Review and find out!
