Rowling's Harry Potter series is amazing, but I didn't exactly love the sixth book or its romance so here's my take..just remember plot's mine, most of the characters are hers, but all in all she's my inspiration so give her credit please LOL!
Chapter 1- Catch me if you can!
Harry ducked as another quaffle whizzed past his head; he was searching for the golden snitch as he had been for the whole match. Gryffindor was only up by twenty points and the Slytherins were getting more aggressive by the minute.
'Crap, if I don't find the bloody snitch soon we might lose...or worse: Malfoy will get it. Speaking of whom, where is the prat?'
Harry surveyed the field and air for Draco as he casually hovered out of harm's way.
'Oh, there he is! Wait; what's he chasing? Not the snitch, is it?'
Harry quickly dove after Malfoy, ducking through the other players. As Draco swerved toward the right, Harry lost sight of him due to the fact that he almost took out one of his own teammates because of his lack of attention.
"Watch it, Harry!" Ginny shouted as she straightened out.
"Where the bloody hell did he go?" Harry murmured under his breath. "Slick weasel."
Harry stopped his broom near the bottom of the Ravenclaw tower and paused to catch his breath. He looked up at the score: Gryffindor: 120, Slytherin: 210.
'Bullocks! We're down by 90 points! If I don't find the snitch soon we'll lose!'
As if by coincidence, a flash of gold shot past Harry's eyes; not taking any chances, he bolted after it as fast as he could. Apparently a certain blonde had seen it as well because he caught up to Harry as fast as a pixie and they began to push and shove over the lead.
"Oi, Malfoy, back off you stupid prat, you just started following me. I bet you didn't even see the snitch!"
"In your dreams Potter! I saw it first, you just happened to be closer!" Draco yelled back indignantly.
"Ha! As if, Malfoy! You couldn't see a snitch even if it flew right up to your face!"
Draco snorted and sped up, his hand brushing the snitch; Harry, out of sheer desperation, also sped up and in the spur of the moment shoved Draco. Time seemed to freeze for them as Draco pitched forward off his broom. Harry tried to grab his hand, but narrowly missed. All of the players, spectators, and staff watched with horror as Draco Malfoy took what would probably be his last plunge. Back in the Gryffindor stands Hermione closed her eyes like many others, while in the staff stands Professor Snape was trying to stop his fall.
"Gravitatis obedieritis mihi!"
Everyone whipped their heads toward the middle of the field where the spell came from and spotted a cloaked figure. The stranger had his wand pointed at Draco and a blue spark shot straight at the Slytherin seeker, encasing him in blue light. They all watched with amazement as Draco's descent slowed and he was delicately placed on the ground in front of the stranger. Harry flew down towards them in order to apologize and make sure Draco was alright, not noticing everything else going still.
'Damn it! That was too close, I almost killed him...but who was it that saved him...?'
When Harry was about to touch down he noticed that Draco was scrambling away from the stranger; they seemed to be having an argument.
'Psh, just like that prat not to be thankful to the person that saves his life!'
The stranger, who had never put away his wand, suddenly pointed it toward Draco again.
"Petrificus totalus!"
The spell hit Draco squarely in the chest and the blonde immediately froze. Harry ran towards them, shouting, "What are you playing at? Release him now!" He drew his wand and pointed it at the stranger. "Who are you and what are you doing to Malfoy?"
The stranger turned from Draco and looked Harry up and down.
"Hmph, so this is Mr. Harry Potter, Savior of the wizarding world, the Boy-Who-Lived, Dumbledore's Golden Boy? Wow, it really is a wonder that dear old Voldie hasn't killed you yet; don't take this personally, but you're a lot more pathetic than I thought you'd be." He chuckled a bit. "And it would seem you're not so golden after all, having deliberately knocked another wizard off his broom like that."
Harry was taken back. "N-no, I was- I wasn't trying to knock-"
"And about my sweet little Draco...he doesn't concern you, understand? Isn't that right, Draco?"
"Cut it out Serpius, this isn't funny. Let me go immediately!"
"Aw, Draco, you know why I can't do that. Besides, you have something I want."
'Serpius? Who is he and how does Draco know him...A Death Eater maybe...but not one I've met. What's going on here, why hasn't anyone come to help?'
Serpius seemed to hear Harry's thoughts because he answered: "I casted a charm on them. See for yourself."
Harry looked around; everyone was frozen as if time had stopped – all except for Draco, Serpius, and himself. Harry faced him again with resolve shown on his face.
"What do you want from me? Why are you using them to get to me?"
"Tsk, you really are full of yourself. This has nothing to do with you; it just so happens that for whatever reason, you were immune to my spell. Honestly, I'm here because of Draco," Serpius stated with a frown. "Now if you'll excuse me, he and I have some business to attend to."
Serpius knelt down next to Draco, who was still struggling, and pointed his wand at his heart.
'Crap, I've got to stop him before he does something to Malfoy!'
Without thinking, Harry dove forward with the intent of wrestling the wand from Serpius, but he wasn't prepared for the other wizard to dodge out of the way. Harry looked up from where he had fallen on the ground; Serpius had his wand pointed at his nose.
"Now, now, Harry, though I do admire your endurance – to an extent, anyway- I am afraid that another interruption will not be tolerated. Well, I'm sorry that it had to end like this, but it was interesting to meet you-"
"Stop!" Draco screamed.
Both Harry and Serpius turned towards him with mirrored shock.
"Please Serpius, don't hurt him. Bind him or knock him unconscious, but don't hurt him."
Harry had never heard such desperation in Draco's voice or seen such desperation on his face; it confused him.
'Wait a sec, why is he trying to protect me...not that I mind, but still...'
Serpius, keeping his wand trained on Harry, tipped his head towards Draco in question.
"Do tell, Draco, what do I stand to gain if I do that, hm?"
Draco looked pained for a second until he slipped on his Malfoy mask of indifference.
"If-if you promise not to hurt him," he paused, apparently searching for words, "I'll let you to do it." The last part was murmured, but still heard by the other two.
"Do what? What are you talking about, Malfoy?"
Harry felt like he had been left out of the loop. Serpius, on the other hand, knew exactly what Draco meant.
"Really? You would do that to save him? Your archrival?"
Draco nodded earnestly. Serpius seemed to consider for a minute.
"Wait Malf – erm, Draco – what's he going to do?"
Draco looked at Harry; he had never seemed so downcast before.
"I'm giving him my consent to cast a spell on me."
"What spell?"
"Dedi-"
"Deditionem voluntatem tuam!"
Serpius said the incantation so quickly that Draco had no time to react before the spell hit him in the chest. Harry stared in awe as a blue portal-like opening formed over Draco's heart. Serpius knelt in front of Draco and reached his hand into the light. Harry moved forward to stop him, but Serpius was ready for him.
"Immobilis!"
Harry was frozen instantly. He lied there helplessly and watched as Serpius pulled a bright crystal out of his chest.
'What is that?'
Serpius rose from the ground, clutching the crystal in his hand. As soon as he let go of his hold on Draco's shoulder, Draco slumped forward, lifeless.
"This, Mr. Potter, is Draco's will. Funny little spell, really; it does not work without the consent of the other, but because of you, Draco gave it to me. Speaking of Draco..."
Serpius leaned over Draco's body and placed a hand on his forehead;
"Dormiat in pace frater," he whispered.
Harry struggled with the binds as he watched Draco's eyes close. 'What has he done to him?'
"Nothing yet; he's sleeping for now, just as you'll be..."
'What? No! I can't let this happen!'
"I'm sorry, but you don't have a choice." Serpius walked towards Harry and pointed his wand at him for one last time. "It was good to meet you, Harry Potter. Until next time..."
Harry's world started to fade and the last thing he was aware of was distant shouting in the background.
"Harry! Harry, are you okay, you okay—"
Then everything went black.
Soooooo- what do you think? It took me forever, but it was fun enough. If you could review I would be ever so gracious, thanks for reading!
