Heart Murmurs

No one would have guessed that Jacob and Leah would become friends, but after Jacob's sisters left for collage, Jacob and Leah just clicked. Leah became the sister Jacob was missing, and Jacob became the friend Leah needed.

Leah sometimes saw a look of longing in Jacob's eyes when he saw her with Sam, the hint of jealousy that twisted his features around when Leah would touch the ring Sam had given her. But she ignored it, casting it off as something unimportant.

Jacob's mother dying and Sam imprinting happened relatively close to each other, and Jacob and Leah became closer then ever. In a way, they put each other's lives in prospective, helping one another with their struggles, keeping each other company when they felt more alone than ever.

But as little by little, Jacob got better, Leah got worse. One day, she decided not to hang out with Jacob anymore. He reminded her too much of Sam, his face, his personality, everything.

When Leah left, she hugged Jacob good bye one last time, and Jacob knew. He just knew that Leah was the one. The one he wanted to spend his entire life with.

But Leah didn't want to spend her life with anyone.

(A/N: Wow, I thought this would be a lot longer. Anyways, I got the name 'heart murmurs' because we were learning about the heart in school, and I thought heart murmurs sounded like a good name for a story. And being me, it had to be a blackwater story.)
