I really really realllllyy need to stop messing with this story, but here I am fiddling with it again. I felt I was going down the Mary Sue path, and I refuse to do so. So here we are XD Previously titled The Blind Songstress. Expect many changes for Korin if you read the old one, she had too much going for her anyway

Disclaimer: I do not own Avatar and have no witty way to say so.

Zuko

"Uncle, would you stop with that stupid horn!" My head was pounding, and I was sick of the range of cheery to sappy to downright depressing music he had been playing for the last few hours.

"Prince Zuko, you could stand to have a little more culture in your life." he looked at me more worried than anything.

"We're fugitives, we don't have time for culture!" I could still see the look on Azula's face still, smug and confident. How dare she tell me that father wanted me home? ...He did want me home. I thought bitterly. As a prisoner.

The anger I was already feeling boiled over. I stood, giving my uncle a breif glance. "I'm going for a walk."

"It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. Be careful Zuko." He nodded his head knowingly before going back to playing his Tsungi Horn. Of all the things to survive that explosion that wrecked my ship it had to be that horn... a sigh escaped me as I began walking aimlessly into the woods. I never understood Uncle's proverbs, and hearing one now didn't help the pounding at my temples. I paid little attention to where I was going. I could care less as long as I was alone. I thought I was, but the soft humming coming from the lake said otherwise.

My feet suddenly stopped moving as my eyes then fell upon a young girl bathing on the lake. Her dark hair fell to her waist, looking black as night against her skin. The moon seemed to make her skin glow, making thin ringlets of burn marks visible all over her pale body. I inhaled sharply as sympathy stabbed into my chest.

She's like me. My hand when soundlessly to the burn on my face. I wanted to hit myself for even thinking it, but I couldn't help it. Her head snapped to the side as if she heard something, making her face visible to me. Luckily she didn't see me. I couldn't help but notice... she was genuinely beautiful.

What am I doing? I suddenly realized what I was doing, this is no place for a prince to be, peeping on some young girl. She didn't seem to notice me at all, so I slipped away, not wanting to deal with an angry girl tonight.

This is just a prologue of sorts, more to come soon.
