Prologue
Disclaimer: I do not own Pirates of the Caribbean (unfortunately).
The first paragraph of this chapter seems to appear twice viewed, this mistake is nothing to do with me, as I have checked and re-uploaded the document several times. Please ignore it.
The Duchess was one of its kind. It was the cruise ship equivalent to HMS Dauntless, pride of the Royal Navy. It was elegant, magnificent, and very expensive. Definitely the perfect place for the Governor's daughter to spend her honeymoon. The six-week cruise had been Governor Swann's wedding present to his daughter, Elizabeth, and her new husband Will Turner.
A waiter dressed in a black tailcoat, white ruffled shirt, and black trousers tucked into his black knee-high boots, approached the happy couple. He bowed his head in polite greeting, "Pardon me for interrupting your meal, but the Captain wants everyone to return to their cabins, we are approaching a spot of bad weather."
Will nodded at the waiter, still in awe about the general luxury of the ship, "Thank you."
The waiter bowed his head again; "My pleasure," then he scurried off to warn the next table.
Will stood up, offering his arm to Elizabeth. She accepted, smiling at her husband. Will smiled back, before signalling to the nearest waiter, "Can we have our wine brought up to our cabin?"
The waiter nodded and smiled sincerely, "Of course, sir."
Elizabeth sat on the window seat, peering out of the cabin window at the sea below. "Spot of bad weather," She quoted the waiter's words, "I think that's an understatement."
Will sat next to her. She was right; the sky was dark grey, almost purple, the rain lashed at the window, lightening ripped across the sky, the noise from the thunder echoed around the ship, and the waves slapped against the ship with alarming force.
"Pretty spooky," he put an arm around her shoulders.
"Oh, after what happened with Jack and those other pirates, I'm used to it!"
Will laughed; he raised his wine glass, "To Jack Sparrow!"
