As he walks in, she's looking at it for the third time that day.
"Do you miss him?"
The picture falls to the floor and the glass shatters. She whips her head around. "Z-Zero-sama!" She gasps. "You startled me."
He looks down at the photograph laying on the floor. "Do you?"
She looks at him, questioning. "Do I what?"
"Do you ever miss him?"
She sighs, reaching down and sweeping the glass into her hand. She leans over to the waste basket and dumps it in, then reaches back for the picture. Setting it on the desk, she's careful not to let him see her cry. "Of course I do. Who wouldn't?"
"Do you blame him?"
She gets up from the chair she's been sitting at, and begins to walk out the door. His eyes follow her until she's standing next to him in the doorway.
"Kallen." He says, more of an apology than a plea. His hand reaches out, moving towards her shoulder.
"I don't have to tell you anything." She says, brushing past him and ignoring his outreach. Her hand is on the doorknob, and she begins to turn it. He walks to the other side of the room and looks out the window.
"How could I?" And then she's gone, leaving him with his head buried in his hands.
