The Girl in the Mirror
As
I look into my mirror, I see a lonely face
I see through her heart
and see an empty space
I wish that I could dry her tears and tell
her it's all right
But I know I can't reach her, try as I
might
As I lay in my bed, I see her watching me
Tears
streaming down her eyes, begging to be free
I try to lend a
helping hand so that she could see
That in this world of
heartbreaks, she's got a friend in me
I looked at her this
morning and saw her puffy eyes
She tried to smile, but I could see
right through her disguise
I waved goodbye and so did she as I
walked right out the door
And in the CR I saw her like I've
never seen before
She looked great and happy; it was a clever
mask
But to hide the sorrow in her eyes was the hardest
task
Somehow it's so easy to see beneath her façade
And
as we look at each other… I see her smile fade
I heard
someone enter and ushered her to leave
But she stubbornly stood
there, her movements she reprieved
I hoped that that person would
never see
The girl in the mirror in front of me
She turned
to the mirror as I silenced my surprise
She asked the girl why
were there tears in her eyes
But she just looked back and did not
leave her place
So the other girl surprise me when I felt her
embrace
I looked back at the mirror and what I saw made my
heart fall
The girl in the mirror was me after all…
Author's Note: Hi there! This poem is written by my friend who's a writer at Her penname is Dark Queen of Chaos. Check her works its really great! I post it because it really held so much meaning. I ask her permission and she said yes. When I read it, I really felt it was Tenten that's being described since she's always been wearing the façade of a carefree girl even though the truth is she's not really that happy. I do hope you guys like it! My friend and I will accept any criticisms, suggestions and advice. So please review! Thanks!
