SO, this is my new peom... yes i know WHY so much poetry? Because it seems i have a gift for it. AND "The Hideaway" always gives me some great prompts!
(SPEAKING OF THE HIDEAWAY: I recieved 3rd place for my drabble "Never piss off Mrs Malfoy!" If you havent read it, go have a look!)
This times prompt: Summer Love
Last Summer Days
Tranquil moments, spent together, spent on the Great Lake's shore,
watching the Great Squids numerous tentacles in sun warmed water circle 'round.
Looking up, on the horizon, school owls were now only tiny specks -
acceptance letter delivery bound.
Limitless letters inked in dark green hues, now written in my strong loves graceful refined hand.
No one would believe if they ever saw us now,
You, me, barefoot, wiggling our toes on the pebbled beach shore,
8 weeks of summer's constant company wilted down to two final days,
Before the arrival of my best friends, and your everlasting enemies,
keeps us further and further apart.
In the beginning, our mutual spellbound-friends kept watch -
the love we newly discovered transforming in their eyes.
Our times in The Great Hall or meaninglessly chasing each other between the greenhouses,
gave pleasant imagery that touched their not-so-young hearts.
So we, just Severus and Hermione, (not yet, not today)
Spend one last moment in our favourite place, the place where our love was born,
and summers well-shone beams give it courage to survive.
But tomorrow... ... ...tomorrow we will have to "forget" this life
before skipping back along to live "their way".
Our love IS Summer – a bright way in between the horrors of our worlds,
and no matter what clouds hang over us,
we shall always remember today.
