Kaylara tossed her long, windswept ebony hair over her narrow shoulder. Her deep violet eyes glittered in the fading sunlight as she gazed out towards her destiny. She placed a gloved hand on one slender hip and urged her tiny vessel faster. Shimmering tendrils of power flew from her dainty fingertips, sending gusts of wind into the sails, sending the small boat surging forth.
Soon, she could see it; Smoker's name proudly emblazoned on a bright white sail, calling out to her. The young woman dropped a hand to the priceless named blade at her side, her constant companion and birthright. She gazed at the looming Marine ship as she drew nearer, knowing the one man who could truly understand her pain and still love her beyond her tragic past was aboard. It was only a matter of time before they were united.
Her little boat, a memento granted her by the grateful villagers of the island she had just freed from oppression, bumped lightly against the painted hull of Smoker's ship. Knowing she would never need the vessel again, she didn't bother to secure it. Instead, she drew a deep, calming breath and leapt into the air. Her trained, lithely muscled legs sent her flying high, allowing her to land gracefully on deck.
Raven hair whipping about her like a dark halo, Kaylara, the Night Hunter, gazed hungrily at the bare-chested and reclining figure of her soul-mate. Smoker looked up at her from the newspaper he was engrossed, a frown crossing his face.
"Who the fuck are you?" he ground out around a pair of smoldering cigars.
The buxom beauty smiled, smoothing a hand down her shimmering silk, form fitting black pirate's jacket. "My name is Kaylara, the Night Hunter. I have traveled across the sea, through war torn lands, on a quest to find my one true love. I..." Her eyes like amethysts glistened, damp with sudden tears, "I— "
"What the fuck are you doing on my ship?" The marine was on his feet, hand wrapped around the leather handle of what appeared to Kaylara to be a very large pike.
Kaylara blinked the tears from her plum coloured eyes, taken slightly aback. "I came across a strange fruit, one day, as I escaped the clutches of certain death at the hand of my cruel adopted parents. As soon as I had eaten the Mary Sue Sue no Mi, I knew I had to find you, my love." She flung her arms wide, causing her ample bosom to bounce slightly. "I am your perfect match. Set aside your pike, my dearest, and come into my loving arms. We were meant to be together—"
A warm hand tapped her on the shoulder, rudely interrupting her declaration of love. She glanced back over her delicate shoulders to find a freckled face grinning at her.
"Sorry, girly, this one's taken." Ace smirked at her, "That really is a jitte in his pocket, and he ISN'T happy to see you."
Pouting, the slim girl crossed her arms over her pert chest, "But I'm perfect in every way! I have a tormented past. I have dreams. I have—"
She made a particularly neat splash as she hit the water, suddenly flung from the ship.
"Oops, my hand must have slipped!" The smirking pirate waved from atop the deck before disappearing from her sight. From above she could hear a dark growl and some low laughter, followed by the sound of a door being hastily opened and closed. Then there was nothing save the gentle lap of the waves.
Unlike other Devil Fruit users, Kaylara's special abilities gave her the power to control the seas, and she swiftly swam back to her small vessel. Obviously, this Smoker fellow wasn't the man for her. The White Hunter had been so promising.
Frowning, she tapped one lean finger against her full red lips. She was certain her true love was a Hunter, as she was. Hadn't she heard of a notorious, demonic Pirate Hunter somewhere in the area?
Smile lighting her vivid purple eyes like the sun coming out from behind a cloud, she turned her little boat towards her true destiny.
