This poem I wrote was for a class project; write a poem that embodies the book we just read. So, I decided why not post it on FF. The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie is acually a really good book if you love science and mystery (and the 1800s). I highly recommend it.
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
Young Flavia de Luce,
With a chemist's mind,
Is surrounded by glass
And colors so kind.
One day, she finds a snipe
With a stamp on it's beak,
Silencing it forever
And the secrets it keeps.
Not long after,
A body is found.
With no wounds or blood,
Nor a clue around.
With her father in custody,
She must solve this crime.
For sisters and father,
This is the sweetness at the bottom of the pie.
