Title: When You're Gone

A/N: My english class is very boring. I wrote this. I would just like to say now that I like to live in DENIAL!!!!!!!!!

Creeping Silently into the cemetery, the boy noticed it hadn't changed since the last time he was there. He moved swiftly among the tombstones. Although he moved with confidence, his eyes were filled with sadness and knowledge beyond his 21 years.

As he approached the grave, millions of memories flooded through his mind. He saw the day they met, all those years ago. He would touch his lips and still feel their first kiss. They had been in danger; not knowing if they would survive gave him an extra push to reveal how he felt. He poured all of his pent up emotions, years of longing and love in that kiss. He had known she felt the same way.

And she had. But she had ignored him. When it happened again, she knew she couldn't hide her true feelings. It had scared him. He had never been to lucky with love. Now this beautiful girl, one who he had known and loved for almost all of his life, was in love with him to.

Now he was here, at her final resting place. He hoped, wherever she was, that she was at peace. He took a deep breath, trying to fight back the tears he knew would come.

"Hey." He said weakly. He had been to so many funerals over the years but this was the one he had avoided. He had been too afraid to face the fact that she was gone. But now he was ready to deal with the demons of his past.

"Hey." He said again. "I'm so sorry I haven't visited you. I just couldn't. You have to understand why life. I loved you for so long. And I knew that you loved me. But then, you were gone. I couldn't handle my life without you. I have known you all of my life and you were one of my best friends."

"You didn't deserve this. You didn't deserve to die so unfairly. You were supposed to be with me. I miss you so much."

His tears were flowing freely now. He placed a single red rose on her grave. He traced the elegant letters on her grave. He just couldn't believe she was gone.

Finally he said, " I love you. And as long as I live, I will never forget you Cordelia Chase."

And Xander Harris left the cemetery, his wedding ring gleaming brightly in the moonlight, knowing one day their souls would meet again.
