Like Falling Rain
Summary: Four times he was sweet enough to make her want him back, and one time it was her fault.
A/N: This is for Blazey, cause she's awesome and she wanted more Ashfur. YOU ROCK BLAZEY!
Disclaimer: I don't own Warriors. I do own the poem though. NO TOUCHY! MY POEM! (The poem's sucky though.)
Part I
Your feet hit the ground
Like falling rain
Your eyes are blue
Like falling rain
You gaze at me
Like falling rain
I love you
For falling rain
The first time, she fell.
"OW!" I fall to the ground, the bird flying away, letting out its warning call.
"Are you okay?" I look up. Ashfur stands there, concern in his eyes. Eyes the blue of falling rain. Eyes with kindess, and concern, and sweetness, and…
My thoughts trail off as I stare into those eyes. I can't help but get lost in them.
"Squirrelflight?" I jump as his voice is suddenly right next to me. "You okay?"
"Yeah," I say, trying to keep my voice steady. "I'm fine."
"Good." There's relief in his voice, though I don't know why. It was just a fall.
He stares at me for a moment. I stare back, trying not to get lost again.
"You… gonna get up?" Ashfur is looking at me with more concern in my eyes, probably wondering if I hit my head.
"Oh, yeah." I scramble up, feeling stupid and self-conscious. I'm suddenly glad my blush blends in with my fur. Ashfur doesn't look away.
"Maybe you should get Leafpool to check you over, just in case," Ashfur says slowly.
"No really," I say hurriedly. "I'm fine. I didn't hit my head or anything."
Ashfur grins. "Good. Can't have you injured."
I look down at my paws. His concern is almost too sweet. But I can't help liking it.
The bushes rustle, and Brambleclaw appears. "Hey Squirrelflight." Suddenly he sees the Squirrelflight-shaped imprint in the ground. "Did you fall? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," I mutter, suddenly wishing for Ashfur's subtle caring, not Brambleclaw's demanding questions.
"Good." The relief in his voice is nothing like Ashfur's. "Come on," he continues. "Let's get back to camp. Leafpool should check you over, just to be safe."
"I'm fine," I mutter, but he just ignores me and walks away. I sigh, and cast a wistful glance back at Ashfur.
Because his eyes are like falling rain.
A/N: How was it? Hope you liked it.
Off to take over the world,
Crazy Girl
