What Mulder and Scully talk about during those really long car rides...
M=Mulder S=Scully
Just so you know the American Gothic reference is for my aunt who has a MAJOR crush on Jake Weber, who was the lead in that show.
M taps rhythmically on the wheel.
S: Stop that. M taps louder
M: Why, is it bothering you?
S: Yes, very much so stop it, please.
M: Fine.
M gets out a pack of sunflower seeds and proceeds to eat them.
M: (to S) seeds?
S: How do you eat them, anyway?
M: Well, (takes seed and shows it to S) see the white lines on the sides? Well, you try to crack those with your teeth. Then you push the seed out with your tongue and separate it. Then you just take the shell out of your mouth.
S stares at him blankly for a second.
S: I meant they're so salty and repulsive.
M looks very hurt.
M: (sadly) Sorry, but they kinda have sentimental meaning.
M looks blanlky out the window.
S: M, look, I'm sorry, I didn't know.
M grunts.
S: Well, if you're going to be that way about it...
LONG SILENT PAUSE
S, feeling guilty, tries to lighten things up a bit.
S: Um, seen any good movies lately?
M chokes on a sunflower seed.
S: You okay?
M: I'm fine, physically, my ego's a bit bruised. Actually, yes, I saw one just before we left Washington on this case.
S: What was it? Was it good?
M: It was very good. I can't quite recall the name. It had a guy and he liked this, um, girl. I think it might have been a romance. There was a lot of kissing and stuff.
S: (laughing jokingly) Sounds like it could have been a porno flick for all you know.
M laughs uneasily
S: Mulder?! You watch...um...pornos?
M: One or two, maybe.
S: Then the...and the...why! it all fits Mulder! You're practically obsessed with the things!
M: So, what do you do in YOUR spare time?
S: I take a lot of baths, and-

S: I read a lot, and watch TV. I love English actors like in *small sigh* American Gothic

M: There's one on HBO tonight, want to watch it with me?
