Hey readers (well whoever may have stumbled upon my story) first fic here. Always have been a writer at heart but never really motivated myself to actually publish something here. But I just felt this category needed some love. Anyways enjoy!
Prologue
"Pretty shady place you got here."
He leaned back against the doorframe, not completely trusting of the room to completely step into it. His potential employer faced the large window at the back of his office, arms crossed across his chest, the lights of a sleeping Neo-Paris being the only source of light in the room.
"Are you an Errorist?" Said the man at the window, his voice unnaturally deep.
He snorted loudly, stuffing his hands into his jacket. "Fools. The lot of them. 'Memorize is the enemy', bullshit. If it wasn't for their handy work a lot of us would be out of work." He gestured to his remixer glove on his right arm. "So no, never have been, never will be. Here the lot of them disbanded after the central server went down, considering their work was done."
He could see his potential employer visibly relax. "Good, at least we see eye to eye on that. Their work was good; simply its control was given to the wrong people."
There was a long silence between them. "So am I here for a reason or are you just wasting my time." He hated having his time wasted. He clenched his right hand, causing his glove to glow dangerously in the dark.
He could tell that he was smiling. "I need a target located and eliminated."
He smirked. "You realize I'm just a regular ole memory hunter right?"
"Are you really?"
His grin became broader. "I guess I'm not." He stepped completely into the room and walked up to his desk. "Who do you need gone."
He finally turned towards him, the darkness making it hard for him to make him out. At the most he could make out a tight jaw and slick black executive hair. He was still smiling, a small, barely noticeable smile.
"Memorize may no longer see her as a threat, but I do, to my..." He paused a bit. "plans."
Smirking again, he removed his hands from his pockets to place them on the desk and lean forward. "Well, don't keep me in suspense."
Matching his smirk, he reached for a paper under his desk and slide it across the table to where he could see.
The eyes of Nilin Cartier-Wells peered up at him from the darkness.
As with any writer I would love to hear what you guys think. So please review and or PM me. I'm not one of those people who will get angry or stop updating if there aren't enough reviews. I just like writing and want other people to enjoy it with me. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy reviews. I'm new to the site so I don't really know my way around it much. Sorry if lining and such may be crappy. In terms of story and such I still need much planning and outlining to do but I just wanted to get this prologue out there. So sorry if updates may be a bit slow but I will try to get them out there as soon as possible.
