Nothing. What is nothing? Is it more than just the absence of matter? Few people in this world know the answer to that question. Most are the elderly, that learn over time. But there are some young people that know as well. They are the children and teens that see the people they love die before their eyes, that bear the weight of the world on their shoulders. People like Kamui and Fuuma.
Nothing is a feeling. The deepest and strongest feeling we have. It's what we feel when the person we care for passes on or changes forever. It's am emptiness we can't escape from, we are trapped there until something or someone wanders into the emptiness. Fortunately very few people experience true nothingness, but those that do never forget what it was like.
Very few things become special enough to find their way into the void after this feeling. The things or people that do end up there have to be better than what was lost, the hard part is that most of the time what was lost is irreplaceable.
"Fuuma!"
"It's okay, Kamui"
Feelings of love are the best to drive away emptiness or nothingness. But what if our lover is the one that is gone?
"Yes, Fuuma"
We're left in the nothingness, with it eating away at our heart. We can try to convince ourself that something is enough to pull us back, but no matter what the silhouette is still there. Burned into our very soul.
"Good, because I'm not stopping."
We can't go back, and stop this feeling from contaminating us. We can only move forward and live our lives as best we can. Even if our best drives us mad.
"I can't do this, Keiichi."
Because sometimes, nothing can cure nothing.
"Your just not him, not Fuuma."
That's when it's the worst.
