The adventure was over, and everything was back to normal. But he would never forget that for a period of time it had been him, the woman he fancied, his worst enemy, and two strangers turned friends fighting against a force greater than anything they could have ever imagined.

"Look, Mario!" Peach chirped, pointing north. "See how brightly the stars shine?"

Mario nodded enthusiastically, then gasped. The star in the center...was it waving to them?

"He's watching us, you know," he said sagely. Peach was quite surprised to hear him actually speak, throughout the adventure he'd said almost nothing, choosing to communicate via pantomine. But it made sense, as they weren't quite the same people they'd been at the beginning of it all.

"Do you think we'll ever see him again?" she asked. Mario shrugged.

"Even if we don't, he's never far from us."

Peach smiled, yawning a bit and leaning against her hero.

"Yeah..."

There's a starman waiting in the sky, he told us not to blow it cause he knows it' all worthwhile, let the children lose it, let the children use it, let all the children boogie...
