Title: Whisper

Disclaimer: I own nothing, only the sad scenario…

Summary: Sam has a confession to do to Frodo…

Note: It's sad, and I can write a sequel if you wish, in which Frodo discover everything. It would be really angsty! Read and review please! (I'm still French, there are still mistakes ;-)

Sam stared intensely at Frodo. He could see his too pale skin and feel his breath, so close. Then, he turned his gaze from the other hobbit.

'I have something to tell you, Mr Frodo, he murmured.'

There was no response.

'You see, you will be really angry with me, or you will feel betrayed… But I have to tell you.'

Still no reply. Seated on the bed, Sam was staring at the darkness before him, his hands nervously clasped on his lap. He continued.

'Well… After all that… I mean our relationship an' all; I can say that there is any love for you in my heart.' His heart began to beat faster.

'I mean, there is love, the love of a friend, a dear friend, the dearest… but that's all…'

He began to shiver, and cried.

'All those things we have done together… That was a sort of a lie. Do you remember the first day, Mr Frodo? I mean, the first time we have kissed. It was in the living room. You were seated on the couch and I went to you with some tea. I saw that you were crying. You didn't want to tell me why, so I took your hands and I asked you again and you fell in my arms, telling me that you were a disgusting person. I asked you why and you told me how you felt for me, I couldn't believe that and…'

Sam was interrupted by his tears, coming from very deep in his throat.

'After, I kissed you, because I didn't want you to believe you were disgusting. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry…'

Sam's heart was beating really fast; he tried to calm it down.

'But I never meant to lie!' he said to the darkness. 'I never meant to let you believe that I loved you back. I just wanted to show you that there was nothing disgusting in you. But after that we made love, Mr Frodo, like each day since that day.'

Sam looked down at the sheets on top of his naked body, near Frodo's naked one, asleep.

'I had to tell you, Mr Frodo, for the relief of my consciousness. Even if you will never know, but I can't go on and keeping it inside. Forgive me for what I did, for what I may do… But I promise I'll stay with you, if it can keep you happy. It's what I want the most, your happiness…'

And Frodo began to move in his sleep, his too deep sleep. If only he had known…
