"Isa...Isa, it's time to get up."

The lump under the unicorn patterned bedspread rolled around for a moment before settling. Ray, peeking into the room, gently whispered once more. "Isa, breakfast is ready." The lump rolled again, but there was still no sign that the little girl would be getting out of bed. Ray smiled to himself before pushing the door open gently and tiptoeing over to the bed. He knelt down beside it and took the corner of the bedspread in between his fingers. Lifting lightly, he peered into the little girl's bright eyes and she giggled.

"Do you want want some bacon, some toast, or some eggs?" Ray smiled.

"All of them!" Isa shouted in delight. Ray laughed and stood up, pulling the bedspread all the way back. Isa sat up and and smiled a huge toothy grin which she knew Ray loved. He mimicked her grin, squinting his eyes and exaggerating his expression. She laughed loudly and tried to copy his expression. Ray's smile went back to normal as he knelt back down and reached under the bed. Isa turned her body and flung her leg off of the side of the bed and squeezed the large stuffed rose she had. Ray pulled out a prosthetic leg and sat back on the heel of his foot.

"Do you want to try and do it, or do you want me to?"

"You do it," Isa murmured and turned her head. She stared at the My Little Pony poster on the wall while Ray strapped the prosthetic leg where the 8 year old's left leg used to be.

"All right, all set. Time for some breakfast," Ray said softly, lifting Isa off of the bed and setting her gently on the floor.

Isa looked up at Ray and smiled back. Quietly, she said, "do I get to go to work today?" Ray laughed lightly and nodded, taking Isa by the hand and leading her to the dining room. She climbed into her chair, which was marked with a large Rarity sticker on the back. Ray's chair, across the small table, had Applejack's head plastered to it. Two chairs remained, one with Twilight's head and one with Pinky Pie's head. A large Rainbowdash sticker was set in the middle of the table, and Fluttershy was on a chair in an empty corner of the room, deemed the "Time out corner."

Ray watched as Isa performed her regular morning routine of picking up her plate in one hand and thoroughly wiping off the table with the other despite it already being clean, then setting the plate back down and wiping the whole upside of it with her napkin, and finally wiping the rim of her cup with a new napkin and looking down into the bottom of it to check for any dirt or stains in the plastic. Once she was finished she laid a third napkin gently beside her plate, arranged the silverware as straight as she could on the napkin and holding her hand out to Ray, indicating that she was done and wanted him to throw the previous napkins away.

Ray took the crumpled up napkins from Isa's hand and tossed them into the garbage on his way into the kitchen. He went to the counter and picked up a large platter covered in various breakfast foods and carried it to the table where Isa waited patiently. Ray put the food on Isa's plate carefully as she made sure none of it touched, and when he was finished she bowed her head and prayed silently. Ray watched, not making a sound as she prayed in her head but mouthed the words. He smiled lovingly, feeling ready for his day at work with his niece.
