Choice of the Wise
Long ago, I, came upon the wondrous sight Of Tsunami, bathed in light, Boasting to a demon of the night, Tokimi
"Thou art no contest, no worthy fight Why not let the oldest decide who has more might?"
From the shadows came the cry, "Come, Old sister choose me! Within my darkness you shall be free! Chains of light shall never bind thee! To be happy, flee with me!" And she smiled at me, face full of glee.
I turned to her, but then came the cry of "Nay! For all those who listen to her must pay! Though her words are free and gay, Do not listen to the lies she doth say! What choice is there in this game we play?"
Now they looked at me expectantly, But upon this face lay a smile so craftily, That their smugness disappears fearfully. As my grin widens, and I look at them teasingly, I answer.
"You both act far more foolishly then those gifted with mortality which is why I choose their way, I Washu become mortal and by doing so play by own rules. I am niether the head or the tail of your coin but the inbetween, its edge. The obstruction between your sides now and forever more"
This was the choice of Washu. The choice of the wise.
