Ch 00:

* BANG! *

It was dark...

Darker than the sweet abyss of unconsciousness...

His limbs felt heavier than steel beams...

He felt numbed from the tips of his fingers to every joints of his bones...

And he felt cold seep in every fiber of his flesh...

Is this death?

Is this what death is supposed to feel?

The sound of a firing gun was the last thing he heard before coming to this place...

Is this what they call the netherworld or is this hell?

"Tsuna?!" An echo of a voice reached his ear.

It sounded really desperate... "Please, Tsuna! I'm begging you..."

There was a distant sound of an ambulance.

"Don't die on me, Tsuna!"

It was still dark but Tsuna knew he is currently standing. His eyes are open but the only thing he could see is himself. He tested walking forward, but it felt like he was submerged in some murky water. He fell on his knees as strength quickly left him. He was panting harshly.

*CLACK* *CLACK* *CLACK*

The rhythmic sound of clacking shoes on marbled floor reached his ears.

He forced himself to face the direction of the sound, only to have his breath caught in his throat.

There stood in front of him was an exact replica of himself... only this one is probably five years older than him.

The older Tsuna stopped a few steps away from the younger one... His face had a small resigned smile.

He approached closer, almost tentatively.

"You endured well so far" He reached out a hand, patiently waiting for him to take. "I'm proud of you..."

The younger of the two stared at the other in suspicion. No thoughts running through his head, but the feeling of emptiness settled in his chest.

"It's alright to lean on to others for support..." The older of the two still has that gentle smile on his lips. "Do not hesitate to borrow my strength"

"Why?" The younger brunet croaked. His throat felt dry, and he wished he could down a glass of water right now.

"Because I know what it feels like to be alone..."

"But I am not alone" He defended. "I have my brother and mom..."

"But they don't know the fights you fought to protect them"

"And I am more content that way"

"But it's not enough... right?" The older brunet's smile slightly faltered before being reinforced again. "You want them to understand you... To understand that you are fighting for them and not just for yourself"

The older brunet bent down and reached to pull the younger one to his feet. Younger Tsuna immediately felt the rush of strength and power.

Slowly, the other's image began to fade.

"In times like these, you can borrow strength from me"

The gentle smile on the older Tsuna never fade as he himself disappeared.

"Live well... For our sake."
