A/N: The plot bunnies attacked me when I was supposed to be doing homework. Here's the result.
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars. It belongs to Mr. George Lucas.
Hate
1. Her iron will.
She was tortured mercilessly. She had everything taken from her. She was beaten and broken.
And yet she still would not waver, she still would not bow. She still would not say a word that may give away the Alliance.
It was infuriating. He needed the information. He hated interrogating women. He hated her for making him have to.
He hated that she wouldn't give in.
2. Her ability to love.
She loved so freely and so deeply. So foolishly.
She loved Luke, she loved that smuggler, she loved her many friends, she even seemed to love those droids of hers.
She was in the middle of a blasted war, and yet she saw fit to fit to risk herself by loving people who could be dead the next day.
He hated that she could be so willing to love.
3. Her selflessness.
On the Death Star, she feared for the Alliance, for her family, for her friends, for the future of the galaxy, but not for herself.
In Cloud City, she feared for Luke, for the smuggler, for the Wookie, for the future, but not for herself.
He hated that anyone could be so unselfish.
4. Her daring.
She dared to hide the stolen plans. She dared to face him with pride and without fear. She dared to run from the Empire. She dared to go up against a Hutt.
She was a worthy opponent, he would admit that. She was a most challenging person.
He hated that she was so fearless.
5. Her innocence.
She was just a child. She didn't belong in this war.
She may have been a rebel leader, maybe have played the warrior princess, but she was just a young girl.
He hated that someone so young could falsely act so old.
6. Her sense of right and wrong.
The rebels were right and the Empire was wrong. That's the way it was to her.
She couldn't see that the Empire brought order to the galaxy. She couldn't see how much pain and death the rebels caused. She truly thought the rebels were defending freedom. She truly thought the rebels could bring peace.
He hated that she would never change her views.
7. Her ability to see the truth.
She could see the corruption in the senate. She could tell the Emperor was just a power hungry old villain. She could tell that Vader hated the Death Star. She could tell that the Empire could be defeated.
He hated that she could see though everything.
8. Her force sensitivity.
Oh yes, she had the force with her, she just didn't know how to use it, didn't know how to tap into that raw power.
He hated that she never would.
9. Her beauty.
She was indeed lovely. So very lovely.
She had a fiery beauty to her. Her long dark locks, her lively brown eyes, her thin red lips.
He hated that she had the same beauty as someone he had loved.
10. She was his daughter.
His. His.
She belonged to him. She was part of him. She could be no one else's. She was his girl.
And so he couldn't hate her.
