After the Battle
He looks up at the ramshackle house as the memories and emotions of years engulf him. It started here as a prank that nearly cost him his life. He walks up, stepping over the gaping hole where one of the steps has long since disintegrated. Placing his hand on the doorknob, he takes a stuttering breath. Slowly he opens it and looks into the warm brown eyes waiting for him. He holds his breath. Lupin smiles and reaches for him. Forgiven. There are many yet to be convinced, and is homecoming is not what he hoped, but it's a start.
