Tie

The final match of the Sinnoh Grand,

At this point of the exciting fray,

Only the two best coordinators stand

Their names? Why, Drew and May.

The clock starts and the battle begins.

Drew calls "Let's go, Absol and Flygon."

"Take the stage" May shouts as she spins,

Her pokemon:Blaziken and Glaceon.

The blue eyed trainer takes the first move.

She commands fire spin and ice shard.

Meanwhile, Drew hasn't gotten into the groove,

His confidence staggers and his points go down hard.

While May smiles at her direct hit,

Drew realizes that this will be no walk in the park.

Both trainers are quick, both trainers have wit.

This battle certainly will not be forgotten, it left its mark.

Drew makes the next move: "Come on Dragon Formation."

May remembers this trick from quite a while back.

"That's not gonna work this time, for your information."

"We've got to do something! Glaceon, quick attack!"

Absol's out, Glaceon too! A true test of skill: ace to ace.

"I've gotta beat May" "I've gotta beat Drew."

No trainer's giving an inch, it's face to face.

Somebody must win but the question is who?

There's only one minute left. Tick, tock, tick.

"Blaziken, come on use Overheat!"

Fog covers the battlefield, heavy and thick.

This match's intensity is impossible to beat.

Five seconds left. Whoever's left standing wins it all.

Five, Four, Three, Two, One. It's all over now, all done.

But wait. Blaziken and Flygon have both taken a fall.

The trainers May and Drew tied. They both won.

And as they went to shake hands….

Drew sealed the tie with a kiss.

One broadcasted across the lands.

They can cross that off the bucket list.

That's all I have to tell you today.

A romantic battle, I'm sure you're saying wow.

There isn't much more I really can say.

But the first ribbon cup tie and the story how.
