I woke up in my pitch black room to the sound of screaming. It's not even unusual anymore. Every night it's the same thing, people can't see the undead so they feel safe. But when one of them jumps out, they flip and attract more of the undead. Then in four to five hours, they're undead too. Four years ago a cancer patient in Pakistan who was an extremist, blew up a nuclear reactor in order to kill the people controlling him. But with the medication he was on and with all the radiation, something went wrong when he died, He came back.

Its taboo to say the word "zombie" because I mean, everyone's lost people to this plague and it's not cool to refer to someone as a zombie. I wish I knew my family was ok. I was at a boarding school two states away when the outbreak came to America, but when the dead started coming back to life, president Obama ordered a wall to be built around the border of California, a safe haven 2000 miles long. That's where my friends Kelsey, Tabitha, Tj, Eric, Ashley, and I are headed. Hoping without hope that our families made it there, but every day on this blood soaked, flesh-eater infested road, make our little bit of hope die.
