Vampire Knight's End
"ZERO!" that voice….her voice…it had been haunting him with the fake images of a human but it was only a mask for the demon inside….and he was too late…he let himself feel for her…try to protect her…not anymore….
He held the gun to his head the cool metal felt soothing to his hot forehead. His finger a millimetre away from the trigger the loud click of the hammer setting into place.
"ZERO!" that voice…she will never be here again he had said he would kill her… he couldn't she seemed so happy….he was not…how could he destroy her even if she turned out to be a monster he…he…no he could not…
He held on tighter to his gun as he looked across the top of the building this school had been his home for many years…but it had also been hers….her….yuuki…she even in death would never forget….never forgive…
Finger on the trigger "ZERO! NO!" Her scream became louder and it rang through his ears he looked down to the ground. Vampires they had roamed over this place were he, zero had been. Were he had saved yuuki so many times.
"Zero?" "Yuuki?" he turned around and there she was like in his hallucinations so many times. She had long auburn hair and brown eyes her pale skin reflecting in the moonlight. She was not in her school uniform as before but in a travel cloak and unlike before the chairman and kaname kuran the vampire that stole her away was there.
"Yuuki..." His voice soft but cracked because she was there walking hesitantly towards him "No…your not REAL!" she stopped as the gun came to face her. Kaname stepped forward to her side.
"Zero…don't do this…please?" her voice was heartbroken but he didn't care.
"No your not real, you….no…NO! I WON'T! I won't…I cant…you were not there, when…I have to…!" He couldn't explain it all. "You can't what?" He put the gun towards his heart "I can't explain this…not to you….never to you…the only one who ever understood..." He stopped as he remembered his brother ichiru…ichiru who he had cared about and would have risked his life for…had turned around and stabbed him in the back…just like yuuki!
He looked down at the gun and positioned it just above his heart. He looked up they were staring at him with the same knowing eyes. They had NO idea…BANG!
Blood spurted the shocked faces in front of him. Pain blossomed all over his body. Yuuki ran over to his side as he fell and caught him in her grasp.
"Zero? Zero!" a numb feeling started from his lower body travelling slowly upwards until all he could move was his head.
"I always loved you…wanted to protect you but I failed and now…." He gasped as sot lips met his…yuuki was kissing him…she pulled back just as his vision started to darken "I love you!" was all he heard and for the first time in years he smiled a true smile "no you don't!" then darkness took over him as he finally slipped away.
Yuuki hadn't known what to do when she found him….Zero the one she couldn't stop thinking of…covered in blood that was not his own…scarlet eyes…with a gun to his head.
He had called her a monster…he had loved her….the smile still etched on the now peaceful face the eyes had not been red in his final moments the shock finally gone she looked into the empty eyes that used to be full of such emotion. She looked up into the sky he died a horrible death and she had caused it looking up into the stars she hoped…she prayed he would be happy. Tears streaming down he face they carried his body down to the main hall were they left him there to stay just for now but even then a scarlet stream of emotion flickered through his eyes. Life still in his body just reaching to get out.
