NOTE: This story, like 'The L.O.A.D.' is not in my verse. It is a simple 'What If' story that has been floating around in my head for a while. Hope you enjoy and please review.
Tiana, Naveen and Louis stood in the swamp around a small grave. It hadn't been long since the burial and they were finishing up saying good bye. As they left, a man dropped down silently from the trees. He waited until the group was out of site before he walked over to the grave. Facilier swallowed, his throat tight. He stood there for a moment before he found his voice.
"I'm sorry," he said quietly. "I tried, I really did. I never wanted it to turn out the way it did." He stopped talking, the blood pounding in his ears. He looked back at the grave and closed his eyes, tears coming to his eyes. "It's too late, ain't it? I had my chance and I lost it. We should have talked sooner but I weren't ready. Now it's too late." He took off his hat and wrung it in his hands. "I'm so sorry. Y'all were right; you were always right. I shoulda listened." He looked back at the grave and his knees buckled. "I'm so sorry. I just wanted you to be proud of me. I'm sorry Odie. I'm sorry mama. I just wanted you to love me."
