AN: This little one-shot was inspired by a picture from Deviantart. It is named Good Bye For Ever, and is made by Pink-MaskedDKA. Been a bit moody lately, so… Yeah. Despite the pic, I moved the gravestone to a well-known place. It should be easy for the average Naruto fan to know where it is.

If it's over 1000 words… Well, lucky you guys. Heck, I'll be surprised if it's above 500 words.

Disclaimer: If I was Kishimoto, why would I write fan-fics?

It stood there alone on the grassy field. The winds blew, and the trees gently swayed with it. The streaming water ran under the bridge, and some fishes jumped over the water before they pummeled back in.

It stood there, a small distance from the posts. He said he wanted to be buried at the place it all started, the place where he got his real friends.

It only broke their hearts more.

They stood in front of the gravestone, hand in hand. They had went here daily ever since that day. Even their teacher went by every day, but always alone.

They understood why.

"…Hey Naruto, it's us. We hope you have it great wherever you are…" His voice faded, and he begun to bite his lip.

His follower could do nothing else than lean on the raven-haired boy, tears streaming down her face.

"…You saved me… You always did, and you never expected anything back. You… You showed me his lies…"

His voice cracked, and he shut his eyes tightly.

"I'm sorry, Naruto."

Another gentle breeze swept over the plain, rustling the branches. The time slowly went by, the two standing there unflinchingly. The girl cried, leaning her head on the boys' shoulders as her body shook slightly, her eyes fixed on the stone.

"You did your best Sakura; at least he died with a smile on his face, knowing that we cared about him."

The girls' eyes didn't gaze away from her position, but she tensed slightly, the tears continuing to fall.

"B-But was it a true s-smile? We, I did so much a-against him. H-How can we-e"

"It was." He said, gaining a sad smile. "He died happy, believe it."

The words settled her somewhat, her trembling got under control, but her tears still fell from her eyes.

"We should get going." The boy mumbled, noticing that the sun was setting. The girl nodded, but still they stood there for one more moment, gazing at the stone. The raven-haired boy bent down on one knee and touched the stone with two fingers, just like his brother did to him.

"…Thank you, Naruto."

He stood up and grasped the girls hand, but right before they turned around to leave, they felt a slight pressure around them, and a strange calm overtook them.

It slowly ebbed away, and another breeze went over them.

They smiled slightly, their eyes taking one last look at the stone, and then they began their trip home.

A shadow appeared in front of the gravestone, gaining the form of a teen in baggy clothes.

"You're welcome, Sasuke, Sakura."

A tear went down the specters chin, dropping to the ground, a smile on the man's face.

As Naruto looked at the sky, Sasuke turned his eyes upwards too.

"It looks like it's going to rain today."
