I am in the Christmas spirit mood so I decided to write a Hairspray Christmas story.

My Christmas Wish

Link and Amber got married when she was 28 and he 29. They have been married for 15 years. In their mid 40s Link and Amber have four children; 2 boys and 2 girls. Their oldest is Trever James Larkin who is 12, Abby Rae Larkin is 10, Alex Michael Larkin is 7, their youngest is Riley Ann Larkin who is 3.

Link is a doctor and has his own practice in the city of Baltimore where he and Amber have lived their whole lives. Amber stays at home with Riley and will go back to work at the television station where she took over for her mother when Riley is of school age.

Link has been so busy with all of his patients that he is gone a lot. Amber has just gotten all the kids into bed and sleeping when she decides to go sit outside and look at the stars. She sees a shooting star shoot across the sky and makes a wish.

Amber looks up, closes her eyes and says, "My Christmas wish is for Link to be home through the holidays and for the two of us to spend more time together."

She opens her eyes hopping that her wish will come true.

Just then she hears Link's car door shut and sees him walking toward her as she sits on the front stairs outside their front door.

Link looks at her with a smile and asks her, "Hey, what are you doing up so late?"

Amber looks up at him and replies, "I was waiting for you to come home."

Link smiles and nods, "Well I'm home now and I don't have to work again until after the new year. I also got these for you."

Link pulls a large bouquet of red, pink and white roses out from behind his back and hands them to her.

Amber gasps and the sweetness of what he has done for her. He rarely gives her flowers except for her birthday, their anniversary, and Valentines day.

Amber takes the flowers and holds them under her nose to smell them. She stands up and wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him hard on the mouth. She whispers a thank you into his ear as he hugs her.

She tilts her eyes towards the evening sky and whispers a thank you for making her wish come true,

Her Christmas wish has come true.

Amber knew that this Christmas would be one that she and her kids would never forget for the simple fact that their husband/father had made the decision to spend more time with them. That in itself was the best Christmas present.
