"I really hate this...everyday...its the same whispers and snickers...from these people..." A young woman dressed in semi baggy clothing thought to herself as she walked down the halls of the SOLDIER Headquarters. There were several male SOLDIERS conversing in the hall.

"These people don't know anything about me,"

"What? A female infantry?"
"A SOLDIER."
"You're kidding...a woman SOLDIER?"
"Hey Hey...I heard she was cute."
"I heard she was the childhood friend of Zack."
"Zack? You mean the first Class SOLDIER Zack Fair?"
"The one and only god knows we only need one,"
"Did you hear that she broke Landen's nose and sent him to the infirmary when he tried to feel her up?"
"WHAT?"

"Isn't Landen taking the First Class test? She took him down?"

"She's just a Second Class SOLDIER..."
"Oh! shhh! She's coming"

The young woman quickly walked pass the second and third class SOLDIERS silently, knowing that they were conversing about her. She was the hot topic on everyone's lips. She was the first and ONLY female SOLDIER in Shin-RA. She continued out of the barracks of SOLDIER, one perk about being above the plate was the blue sky, even if it was partially stained with the bright green of the Mako.

"When will it end? They gossip like high school girls," She sighed annoyed as she stretched.

"Do I really want to be here?" Chu asked herself as she looked down at the concrete underneath her feet.

"Chuuu!"

Someone yelled her name, as it reverberated off of the concrete walls. Chu sighed and closed her eyes, drowning out everything around her and focused on her frustrated thoughts.

"I got this far…so I can't give up…I'll show them...all of them." Chu whispered quietly.

"Chuuuu!" Chu let out a sharp surprised cry as she was lifted from the ground and spun around.

"Chu! How dare you ignore your Superior Officer," Zack said as he still held on to Chu. Chu squirmed and frowned as she tried getting out of Zack's steel grip.

"Zack...she's uncomfortable," Cloud said.

Zack hesitated before he sat Chu back onto her two feet. Chu began to fix her baggy uniform and smooth her hair. Zack laughed as he noticed she was struggling to make her uniform fit.

"It looks like you need to get a new uniform Chu. Weren't they supposed to order you one already?" Zack asked.

"No kidding. Maybe you can push them to order me one faster instead of me walking around in an ill-fitting uniform. don't have a masculine chest like the rest of you. Perhaps a custom made one?" Chu asked as she looked at the older man in front of her.

Zack looked at the petite woman in front of him, she was drowning in the uniform that they had given her. Even though she was taller than Cloud, she still drowned in it. Zack absentmindedly watched as Chu tucked in her shirt, making her breasts more prominent, a small perverted grin crossed his lips. Cloud realized Zack's mindless staring and nudged him, bringing him from his perverted thoughts.

"H-Hey," Zack chuckled nervously. Chu looked at him suspiciously at the older man and rolled her eyes.

"Yeah I'll see what I can do to get your uniform quicker," Zack quickly followed up.

"You perv," she said and began to fix her hair again.
"S-So your First Class exam is soon right? Are you excited?" Cloud asked changing the subject.

"Thanks, Cloud I'm definitely excited," Chu replied.

"Yeah! You're going to be on my level," Zack smirked.

"YOUR level? I had to jump through flaming hoops to get here. Besides, they barely wanted to let me in Second Class. So I'm more than qualified to be a First Class SOLDIER," Chu stated.

"Hell yeah you are. That's what I'm talking about," Zack I'm curious to why they didn't send you on a mission. That's what they usually do right?" Cloud asked looking at Zack.

"They usually send people on missions right? I'm curious to why they didn't send you on a mission,"Cloud asked looking at Zack.
"That is true...maybe trying out something different? I'm not sure, they have you taking on Sephiroth...which is super confusing. He's not even on OUR level," Zack said.

Today was Chu's test to become a first class SOLDIER and instead of going on a mission per the normal test, she was to partake in a match against the Elite SOLDIER Sephiroth. She knew about the stories of his great and sometimes impossible feats, but she also knew in the back of her mind that there were plenty of toes being stepped on. that there were a lot of toes being stepped on as she quickly excelled above everyone during routine tests, but she didn't care. She knew that she worked just as hard as they did and deserved all of the perks she gained. She proved herself and she

She put everything behind her and kept her head up, she worked just as hard as everyone else, she wasn't going to let all the tests and exams that the Shin-Ra R&D department put her through go to waste. She was going to prove herself like every other time, even if she was going to get her butt handed to her on a silver platter she could at least said she tried.

"Are you nervous?" Zack asked as he placed a hand on top of her head. Chu glared at him and smacked his hands away.
"Did you take a hyper or something?" Chu yelled at Zack. Zack chuckled again causing the young woman to sigh.

"I'm not nervous, I'm cool, calm and collected. I've learned that being nervous isn't going to help me so I just deal with it," Chu said calming down a bit. Zack looked at stoically, he could tell that she had grown.

"Oh she's a woman, she's not gonna do any better than we have... Sephiroth is gonna kill her…blah blah blah," Chu went on mocking some of the comments about her that she heard and frowned.
"Don't listen to them...you can do it. I'm sure of it," Cloud said as he put his hand on her shoulder.

"Yeah...these guys need a punch in the face. Show them that a woman can approach and hold her own against him. I got you in here so you better not let me down Chu," Zack said.

Zack Fair, her ebony-spiky- haired childhood friend somehow got her into SOLDIER and helped her make her way to where she currently was, a Second Class SOLDIER. It wasn't easy of course and she knew that she couldn't let them down, she couldn't let Zack down.

Chu began to remember all the training Zack had put her through to protect herself against the overbearing and over cocky SOLDIERS that would try to intimidate her, and the training that she endured from professor Hojo in the training center.

"Don't look down Chu...I know you aren't going to let me down," Zack chuckled as he slapped her on the back, he knew that he had to be careful with showing emotion with her, she was a woman in a male environment.
"Thanks guys...I'm not gonna let you down. I promise." Chu said.
"Of course! That's what I'm here for and besides you can always try again!" Zack said and fist pumped. Cloud cleared his throat.
"You mean we," Cloud said
"As soon as you make it into SOLDIER and pass your basics classes," Zack said making Cloud sigh, Chu laughed.

"Minamoto Chu...Born in Wutai raised in Nibelheim and Gongaga..." Sephiroth said while looking at Chu's file.
"You will her test," the young Rufus said. Rufus Shinra was just barely 20, he was second in command next to Lazard Deusericus, the reason why he was second in command are unknown.
"A female SOLDIER...I suppose your father is all right with that," Sephiroth said while continuing reviewing Chu's file.
"He approves along with Lazard," he replied bored.
"Normally we would send them on missions...why is she an exception to the standard policies? " Sephiroth asked.
"There are several reasons why you should be interested in in Chu Minamoto. She is a part of a project that our R&D Department is working on to further more enrollment of women in SOLDIER" Rufus started instantly catching Sephiroth's attention.

Sephiroth faintly knew of Rufus as being the President's son, he was also in charge of what happens at SOLDIER along with Lazard, but he was more surprised on why he knew so much about this woman.

"She already has exceptional skills that have been shown by test results by Professor Hojo, She has only been in SOLDIER for a year and a half and she is already a Second Class SOLDIER. As you already know it would take cadets two to three years to even reach that status," Rufus continued. Sephiroth glanced at him from the file.

"I am curious to see these skills against our highest class SOLDIER and to see if she was as 'exceptional' as Hojo says she is," Rufus said.

Sephiroth glanced at Rufus and noticed he was looking at him, Sephiroth closed the file and set it on Rufus' desk.
"Exceptional skills huh…"Sephiroth thought to himself. Sephiroth closed his eyes and sighed softly, he then looked at Rufus.
"Are you interested?" Rufus asked. Sephiroth looked at Rufus and nodded.
"This is intriguing...I'll participate," he replied.
