"Trafalgar what are you squinting so hard at the ceiling for?"

"My eyes hurt." Law shrugged before letting his frown drop as he turned to grin at Kid. "Hey, you don't know the secret about my eyes do you?"

Kid snorted. "Nope. Not that I care."

Law just quietly sniggered before slipping out of bed. "Don't open your eyes till I say so."

He only grunted in response. He waited for a minute or two, listening to whatever Law was doing in the bathroom before he heard him flick the light switch and he was back beside him in bed. "Open sesame."

Kid opened his eyes and let out an involuntary gasp because while he was prepared for Law to do something completely wacky, he wasn't expecting what he was seeing now.

His hand reached out to comb through Law's hair, the other man leaning into his touch and smirking as Kid stared into his eyes. The dull grey irises were now replaced with yellow, almost golden ones and they were breathtakingly captivating.

Kid could make up a million and one clichéd descriptions about his eyes and he wasn't sure if any of them could accurately describe how wonderful they were.

"Like what you see?"

"Well shit dude, yeah why wouldn't I?"

Law hummed before pulling Kid into a kiss, pulling away after a moment with a small, happy smile on his face. Curse him for being such a cute bastard with his goddamn gorgeous face and messed up hair.

"Well?"

"Where did the grey eyes…?"

"Honestly Eustass-ya, have you never heard of coloured contact lenses?"

Ah. So that explained the sudden colour change. "Why keep those lovely eyes hidden?"

Law let out an irritated sigh. "Draws less attention to me I suppose."

Well no wonder; it'd be hard to go anywhere with those eyes without drawing someones attention. Kid probably wouldn't have just dismissed Law as some rude asshole at the human auction house if he had his normal eye colour at the time.

"Grey kinda suits me as well so that's why I went for that colour."

"You should leave those contacts out more often." Kid smirked. "I think I could get used to those eyes."

"I'm not supposed to wear them to sleep."

"Oh yeah? Why d'ya have them in before then?"

"Well that's cos bakastass here," Law flicked him in the forehead, "fucked me so hard I was too tired to remember to take them out."

"Anymore secrets you wanna say while you're at it?"

Law whispered, "My natural hair colour isn't black, its dark blue."

"Seriously?"

"Fucking hell Eustass-ya, what have you been doing? I would have thought that you realised something was off when my fucking pubic hair is a different colour from my normal hair."

"Well excuse me!" Kid protested. "I thought it was the lighting fucking with my colour vision or something."

"You absolute child." Law sighed before turning around. "Go back to sleep, it's only 4 in the morning."

"Hmph." Law's habit of shutting the conversation down whenever he wanted to was irritating but Kid took a hint and kept his disgruntled thoughts about how Law shouldn't be chastising him for being a child when he was the one being petulant most of the time to himself.

Law was expecting Kid to spoon him but Kid decided he wanted something to go his way and he felt like having a mutual hug so he rolled Law over, back into his original position facing him. Law moodily blinked at him once when Kid let his arm rest on Law's side before shrugging and hugging him back.

It was rather tempting to do more annoying things just so Law would keep those eyes open but Kid decided to let it be; it was enough for him to just watch Law's breathing even out as he slowly fell asleep, head resting against his chest and the tiniest of smiles on his face.
