Son of Revan
Chapter 1Not long after Revan's disappearance, infertility spread to every life-form in the galaxy. All supernatural abilities ceased. Faced with extinction, the Republic and other agents placed a substantial reward for any information that may lead to Revan's whereabouts. Out of fear, Bastila abandoned Trion on a remote planet; Hoping that he would be protected from those that sought his father.
On the dwarf moon of Badoo, a fire blazed on the circular hearth in the center of a chamber, illuminating the 12 templars that surrounded it. A frosty breeze rushed through the columns of the Monastery. Revan's son, Trion, felt a chill run down his spine. It had been several hours since the sun set and the initiation ceremony begun. It may of interested Trion, had he understood the language in which the templars chanted. Regardless, he stood impatiently, waiting for it to end.
Having evaded discovery for almost 16 years, Trion stood amongst an ancient race of monks; Seemingly, the last place anyone would look for him and for good reason. The natives believed in preservation rather than progress. Having maintained their way of life for over a million years, they had no taste for space travel or even electricity for that matter. Very few people even knew they existed and of those people, none cared.
"It is time," bellowed the elder. "Come forward, new initiate". The chanting stopped, and the 12 elders turned to face Trion who had been lurking in the shadows. Trion froze in confusion. His once lethargic state was quickly swept away by panic. Wa.. Was this my initiation ceremony? He thought. Every initiate went through the templar trials on their 16th birthday; But, he'd lost count of his age and it seemed taboo to ask. For the most part, the templars seemed indifferent to the passage of time. After receiving an affirming nod from his friend, Cyrus, Trion stepped into the light. The elder beckoned him to come closer.
Trion thought back to the previous initiation ceremonies he'd witnessed and now wondered if he'd survive the night. Tentatively, he took another step.
Chapter 2At this moment, Trion wished he had paid more attention during his training. Even though he had lived in the monastery since infancy, much of the outside world lingered within him; adventure, curiosity, and tenacity were not the ways of the templars, and yet they resonated within Trion.
