She wasn't expecting to fall for him. It wasn't something she'd considered when their eyes meet. Brown locked on blue. No. She thought she'd still be with Tommy forever. Hadn't forever been what they promised each other? Kimberly didn't plan this, didn't plan to write the break up letter or take her power coin before a replacement pink ranger could be found.
She didn't plan to hear the call of the wild.
In her heart she knew it was wrong, wrong to hurt Tommy like she did, but she'd done it. There was no taking it all back now as she sat entangled in the wild arms of the one she referred to as her wolf. She's satisfied, happy with her decision, despite the small regret she felt. The rangers would get by without her. Besides, she'd help them when possible. She hadn't completely abandoned them. She'd never do that. Although she did hear talk of using a zeo crystal… Maybe they'd find that and make Kat the new pink ranger.
It started with a simple friendship. How did Kimberly know that the man she befriended who was called Merrick, would bewitch her in a way she couldn't comprehend. Their friendship blossomed from simple sharing of feelings for their respective lovers into something…more. She felt things for him—couldn't get enough of him. Merrick simply awoke something in her, something which called for the wilderness—perhaps it was the pterodactyl in her, or the spirit of the crane. Either the dinosaur or the bird, but graceful anyway—both of them called for Merrick's wild heart. Kimberly felt it and followed it.
Tender kisses soon turned to clutching each other. Soon that led to Kimberly's heart being called to stray from Angel Grove, to join Merrick the lone wolf. She obeyed it, leaving behind everything she knew for the wild unknown. Merrick happily welcomed her as his pterodactyl.
Now here she was, tangled with the man of her dreams—the wild one. The scent of him alone was enough to intoxicate her, but his hands. Well, she knew he played the flute, but to feel his hands on her. Kimberly felt her entire soul and body sing for him. That look in his eyes, the untamed wolf, it drew Kimberly in, spoke to something in her.
It moved her, shook her very world.
"I love you Merrick."
"And I you, Kimberly."
They'd been hopeless romantics and now they were together, as they should be. The wild called to them and they'd meet that call together.
