The Song of the Hungry Hare

Disclamer: I don't own Redwall, any of the Redwall characters, or the Redwall books, except the
ones I've bought. So help me God.

An otter has a wobbly tail, a squirrel's tail is fluff,
And a hedgehog is a very prickly beast,
But the one creature that I know of, made of the strongest stuff?
A hare, sir, blocked from eating of a feast!

When the foebeast comes to fight you,
Go get a hare to right you,
Promise him some carrot stew
And just watch those beasts go!

I know the hare's the best sir, I know what he has done,
Hares are the fiercest beasts I've ever seen,
If you've seen an interrupted hare while nibbling at a scone,
Boyo, you've seen something really mean!

When the foebeast is attackin',
Then make a cake, get crackin',
And watch your hare friend whackin'
Those vermin to the sea!

I saw a hare once, and I say, 'twas not a pretty sight,
Twenty vermin mangled and stone slain,
He said, "The big one grabbed my cheese before I took a bite,
So I made sure that he'd never steal again!"

When the foebeast's looking scary,
And things start getting hairy,
Get out the elderberry
And watch the madbeast go!

I never will forget it, I know 'tis true, my friend,
'Tis the best idea that was ever thought,
For I'm a hare, and I should know its value to the end,
For food, then I'd tie vermin in a knot!

When the foebeast's getting bad,
And the situation's sad,
Boy won't you be glad
To watch the hare attack!

Rumpley tiddley skilly'n'duff
And ho! For all that sailing stuff
'Cause hares have to live, and to live you must eat
And if eating takes fighting, then I'm an elite!
